We had heard the Balmoral Arms was a must stay in Ballater given its history and central location. We were not disappointed. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff, especially at check in and in the restaurant, were helpful and warm. They happily accommodated our feather free room request . Ballater is a lovely and charming village near the Balmoral Castle and we can't wait to go back.

This place is just amazing. It’s really cute. Has a big fireplace, it’s super easy to park. And the rooms are really beautiful and very affordable. We stayed in the Fife Arms before and due to the extreme cost difference, I would 1000% stay at this hotel next time I visit Balmoral Castle. The Lotte’s in the morning were incredible and I had the best lunch of life. The Scottish music was so cute with a beautiful big window views. Really happy here. Highly recommend.

room was fine, but basic, bar is nice and cosy and i like the décor. main complaint is the breakfast service, we ordered the full scottish and waited 40 minutes for it to arrive, was the same for every guest, its just not good enough.

An OK stay if eating and drinking elsewhere..didn't expect anything wrong with a 5 star rating but would only give 1 star ...had to go to reception to get toilet paper as was none and a half empty bottle of irnbru left in room ..not good!! No choice of beers and none in bottles in fridge and after bar open for 4 hrs no change in till ?? Poor and cheap foreign staff ..
