Myself and my partner stayed here for one night on a Saturday, and unfortunately, as there was a wedding taking place throughout this day, 20 odd people congregated at the front door, smoking. Once we passed these guests and entered the hotel reception all you could smell was cigarette smoke. I'm very surprised the staff didn't tell them to move somewhere else but this aside they happily checked us in whilst breathing in all their smoke. Once we arrived at our room, it was very clean and look quite nice. The bed was very comfortable - probably one of the most comfortable i've slept it. The walls between rooms are quite thin, so you do hear other guests however, i would say it's far from the worst hotel i've stayed in and the price was reasonable too. i slept quite well and I'd stay here again but preferably not when there are lots of people smoking at the entrance, as it's not very welcoming.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was central, clean and everything worked. Better than a recent visit to the Midland Hotel in Manchester and a third of the price including breakfast!

Stayed here on route to Edinburgh by train. It was pouring when we arrived at the train station, and I had to carry my kid along busy roads and then through a dark, empty industrial estate to get to this place. If you have a car, then I'm sure the location is no problem. I gave 3-stars for staff because check-in is with a computer screen, not a person. Nobody welcomes you, nobody says 'goodbye' when you leave. I can't imagine why management think this is a good idea. We did interact with the woman who ran the in-house Starbucks at breakfast, and she was very friendly. Room was fine - spacious and clean. I wouldn't rush back.
