About this house rental
The house is the former vicarage of the place (from 1663). It consists of living room, fireplace and dining room, kitchen, shower room and a double room on the ground floor; in the 1. Floor there are 4 bedrooms: 1 double, 3 single (a single is a prisoner, so particularly suitable for a child), 1 bathroom with tub and double sink.
The decor consists of many ancient and original pieces that tell stories. There is a lot of information about the region, including hiking and cycling maps, museums and gastronomy tips. No TV, but plenty of games. Furniture is available for the terrace and the garden.
Sheets and towels are in the house and the beds are made when you arrive.
The daily prices are for 4 pers. calculated, each additional person 20 € per day. Children from 6 to 18 years cost half (1/2 person), children under 6 years are free. The minimum rental period is 4 days. For the final cleaning a flat rate is estimated. Please understand that the cleaning and thus the cleaning price increases, if you change rooms and additional beds. Per bed then 10.- Euro extra will be charged.

Our stay was perfect! The home is in a quiet neighborhood that feels secluded, but just a 5 minute drive to the local grocery store. My husband and I traveled here with 3 small children and my parents. There was plenty of space for us all! We enjoyed cooking dinner in the kitchen then enjoyed an evening with the nice ambiance of this older home in the reading room while the children played with the toys and puzzles in the home. Rothenburg was a short 25 minute drive and Nuremberg was about an hour away. We felt lucky to have this nice retreat away from the city! The home itself had everything we needed and is more beautiful in person. The host was very nice and easy to communicate with. To gain access to the home, we had to connect with a neighbor which took some additional time, but he was very nice and I was able to practice my German as he spoke no English. This was not a problem and he gave us a nice tour of the home after we were finally able to connect with him.
We loved our stay here and hope to return again one day. I highly recommend this place for families!

Over the years, our family has stayed in many VRBO properties, but none have come close to offering the unique charm and character that we found at this home. The property is a 400 year old structure which served as the parsonage for the local church immediately adjacent. One might think that it would have been difficult or impossible to renovate such a property so as to offer all the usual modern conveniences, but the owner has managed to do so nonetheless. In addition, the home is well supplied with linens, towels, kitchen equipment, as well as additional amenities one might not expect (a bicycle, garden furniture, etc.) Our reservation was made on relatively short notice, but the owner replied to our inquiry and made the home ready, all the while communicating promptly by phone and email to various questions we had. In short, if you are planning a stay in Franconia with convenient access to all the surrounding sites, and wish to do so in an authentic property with al the modern conveniences, this is your place.
