About this house rental
Located in a hamlet 4 km from the sea, this cottage offers a peaceful place to stay. You will appreciate its large living room with open kitchen and its south-facing terrace. Its location is ideal for visiting the D-Day landing beaches, between the American cemetery and the artificial harbor of Arromanches. Many historical monuments are nearby (castles, abbeys, cathedrals ...) as well as several classified natural sites.

Comfortable and spacious property with a well equip kitchen. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of storage and hangers. bathroom was adequate but small and hair dryers were good. However, as the weather was exceptionally warm the bedrooms were very warm being in the roof space ( as a converted barn ) and there was no aircon. or fans and keeping the windows open let the mosquitoes in. Overall we loved our stay. The gite was in a good location and we regularly went to Port en Bessin for groceries and fresh fish along with some very good evening restaurants.We also really need to feedback on the dreadful VRBO website where we have lost a deposit on a double booking that should not have happened due to a poor website : everyone be very vigilant when booking and paying. We received a message stating "This property is no longer available" when our payment had been taken. So we ended up booking another property. Despite calling VRBO customer service they fails to help resolve the issue.

Property was lovely and clean, directions to property was not very clear, we found the road ok but no clear directions/signposting to the property, we drove around for half an hour, sought directions from the local campsite and very kind local man guided us there on his bicycle. Property was nice clean but to our tastes the decor was a bit dated .
