We were attending a wedding, which was 10 min drive from the hotel, so for us the location was ideal. It has plenty of free parking, breakfast was freshly cooked and good, with many options. Everything was clean and the stuff was nice and welcoming. there was an iron and ironing board which was quite handy for getting ready for the wedding reception.
although we booked almost one year in advance and asked for a double bed, it was two single beds on arrival, they fixed it fairly quickly though. the hotel is quite old and the aging is showing. We stayed for three days so by the end of our stay we run out of shampoo and bizarly they did not have any in stock to top up.

Lovely setting and a very traditional old interior. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Huntingtower Castle is a short walk away. Also there is a nice foot and cycle path a short walk from the hotel which follows the river.
Housekeeping was a little lax.

We felt the hotel was looking a bit tired in places. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was very good.
Hotel looking a bit outdated and tired in places. Bathroom had a shower curtain which seems very outdated these days - the only one we had throughout our tour staying at 8 different places.
