We had an amazing time in Strassoldo. One of our favourite short term stays we have had. The unit was spotelessly clean, and had all the conveniences you could think of. The castle of Strassoldo is very interesting to wander around, and the town is centrally located for many daytrips. We loved it!

Castello Di Strassoldo is a lovely spot, not fancy but comfortable and well equipped, in a unique and special setting. The owner Gabriella and helper Nidia are wonderful and it is clear that you are staying somewhere with tremendous history and charm. The castle complex is fascinating and the morning and hourly bells from the small church remind you regularly that you are in a bit of a fantasy land! There is not much to the town other than a small grocery store, a pharmacy and a post office but that's really all you need! Except, of course, a truly wonderful bar called BarBagianni (you will understand the name when you get there!) that is run by a lovely group of women and seems to be the social center of the town. It is a vibrant place that made our stay perfect.

Castello Strassoldo is a true gem! We rented the Rice Mill and Casa la Vicinia for 10 members of our family and friends to stay for a week. It was a special week because we were bringing my mother-in-law back to Trieste for the first time since she left when she was 17 years old - which was more than 50 years ago. Our vacation week also included our wedding anniversary. The entire property is just gorgeous. It is beautifully maintained, and the grounds are full of flowers, ponds and birds. All of our bedrooms were beautifully appointed, spacious, and very comfortable. Everyone in our group raved about their rooms! The Rice Mills living room and kitchen were lovely as well, and gave us ample room to cook, make cocktails, and share big dinners and lots of conversation. Because of some changes to peoples schedules, we had only one guest use Casa la Vicinia for one night, but she loved it and it was gorgeous inside. When the other room in the casa wasnt able to be used as a bedroom due to changes in the local housing codes, Gabriella generously offered the castle tower room, which also had a beautiful sitting room and an enormous bathroom with walk-in shower. Our two guests who stayed there loved it!Gabriella and her staff were thoughtful, generous, attentive and truly lovely. Nidia was our main contact, and she was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our entire week. Gabriella and Nidia generously offered to cook and present our anniversary dinner party, which took them two days to prepare. It was held in the castle, and it looked so beautiful! The food was delicious, and Tomasz prepared the best cocktails. It was a very special evening and we were very grateful for their thoughtful attention to all the details - down to the beautiful fresh cut flowers from the garden. All of this was even more remarkable given the fact that Gabriella had thrown her back out that week and was in a lot of pain. She did everything possible to make our stay unique and memorable.I cannot thank Gabriella, Nidia, and Tomasz enough for their hospitality and their generosity. Grazie!Nicole
