The view is truly amazing and the pool is fantastic. You are a long way up which involves some tiring walks but having the pool and the view you get at the end makes it worthwhile. Away from the bustle of Sorrento centre you can relax overlooking Naples bay and Vesuvius.
The property as amazing as the view and pool is, is in need of attention in lots of areas, it is very basic on what is provides, and it needs some work doing, some doors don't quite close, there are weeds around the edges in a lot of places, the kettle doesn't switch off, the bathroom shower door leaks, the general cooking utensils and inside space are very basic. If you were looking to cater here for more than a night or two and some breakfasts it would be a challenge. We had two broken showers inside and out, but they were reported and fixed the same day which was great service, and to be fair the rest we just lived with and didn't report as it wasn't really an issue for us, so I am sure they would have done what they could just as quickly as they were very responsive.
There were no luxury extras, just the bear basics. The villa at some point I am sure was stunning but has been let go a little which is a shame as it could be amazing with a little care and attention. That said it was enough for us and the views and outdoor seating and pool made up for it. Note the walk is ok (25 mins to main square) but all uphill on the way back (past two helpful supermarkets) mostly through a beautiful walled lane but the final part, the drive up to the house is very steep and not for the faint hearted. You can always use Gianluigi for taxis up and down which we only did with our luggage.

The elevated location gave stunning views of Sorrento across to Naples bay and Mount Vesuvius. The pool was great after a steep walk from the centre
It was extremely dated and the interior is shabbier than it appeared in the photos. The bathroom in particular wasn’t nicely presented (rust in places, sink plug) and would benefit from being replaced. The outdoor area/balconies, although very spacious and well presented with seating/tables and comfortable sunloungers didn’t appear to have been cleaned for a long time (we found bits of broken glass in the artificial lawn).
No basic products/items provided that you usually get in a property of this kind - e.g. washing up liquid, pool towels, only one wine glass to share between 4. Cutlery/crockery was dirty on arrival so had to be cleaned before use.
Overall the property is overdue a refurbishment and has amazing potential.
However, Andrea, the letting agent was very responsive and helpful, allowing us to store bags in her tour shop in the centre until check-in and did offer a later check out should we have needed it, due to not guests checking in that day.
