A last minute booking brought me to this charming venue. 20 minutes walk from the station across the river to this nice and peaceful accomodation which feels like a boutiqueish b and b. Bedding is white and spotlessly clean, bed comfortable, and staff welcoming. A simple breakfast is included to start the day. and tea and coffee are available to help yourself to during the stay. The fridge is locked however so if you take milk in your drink then you will have to go without. This could be easily solved with a mini countertop fridge for guests use. My only issue was I booked the smallest attic room as it was last minute and that was a mistake. The pitched roof means there is less that 2m2 of standing head height and the rest of the room you have to either lie down or contort yourself. The bathroom was seperate. Fair enough you may think its a bedroom to sleep in. But really the pitch is really really low. Combined with confusing aircon unit controls it felt hot and claustrophobic. The velux window opened provided no relief as it let in mosquitos or similar biting insects (being next to a river) so even in February I had to sleep like a mummy under a sheet. Sweating. In reality this room should not be let out or only be given to accompanying children. However saying this I did see the other larger rooms and they were absolutely lovely. Enough for me to want to try again. My advice. Book this venue but choose carefully and avoid the attic room at all costs.
