    could not have asked for abetter home base for the five weeks i spent in auckland. everwhere is a 10-minute walk — skycity, high street/lorne street, k'road, and ponsonby, and the ymca sits right in the little apex in the middle of all four. met so many wonderful people here (shoutout to the wonderful receptionists and the cleaners!) and it has been an honor being part of this little multicultural community. initially i thought the kitchens and dining spaces were a little cramped but really it only encourages conversation and close bonds. definitely coming down here again if i'm ever back in auckland.

    Anyway, please... inform guests if they are using SuperShuttle NZ that please wait for the van along the road in front of the YMCA hostel. Because at the night we were waiting for the SuperShuttle NZ's van, we nearly missed the van. This was because two YMCA's staff recommended us to wait inside the lobby... this was totally misunderstanding. However, the male staff was very nice at the time. He was trying to reach out the SuperShuttle NZ's office. Anyway, we support you!

    Great value for what i paid. Lockers underneath the bed. Mixed gender on the same floor. Google maps direction might be misleading to entrance .

    not close as mentioned to city center.. about a 30 min walk.. surrround by by streets.. place i very clean and staff is great.. kitchen is horded by japanese all day and night.. and the smell of food premeates all over the floor, i do like the separate male/female floor and bathroom.. walls are very thin.. no real common area .. they will not left you check in a minute before 2p even is the entire place is empty.. about a 20 minute walk from the airport skydrive bus station.
