Amazing Backpackers Hostel AoNang

I stayed at this hostel during Songkran and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience overall. To start on a positive note, Joe was kind and did try to be helpful, which I appreciated. However, my stay quickly became frustrating. I was initially assigned a room on the 4th floor and an upper bunk despite there being available lower-floor rooms and lower beds. I had to request a change myself, though I’m grateful it was eventually accommodated. The bigger issues were with the facilities. The shower was essentially unusable, with only a weak leak of water, and the air conditioning was not working. I reported this to staff, but nothing was resolved. One staff member kindly gave me a fan so I could sleep in the heat, but I ended up having to use the bidet just to bathe. What made things worse was an incident late at night when a staff member came to my room around midnight and took the fan away for another guest. When I explained that I needed it too, I felt dismissed and disrespected. The interaction was cold and left me feeling like I didn’t matter as a paying customer. Considering I paid significantly more than the walk-in price, the quality of my stay did not match what I was charged. I was also disappointed with the general upkeep of the hostel and the lack of guests, which made it hard to have the social experience I was hoping for. On my last day (14/4), there was also a water cut with no prior notice or contingency plan. It felt like issues were handled reactively rather than proactively. Overall, this stay left me frustrated and disappointed. I would not recommend this hostel based on my experience, and I hope management takes steps to improve both their facilities and customer service.

Staff is awesome, rooms are clean, pool table, coffee and water 24/7 and very reasonable rates. Would highly recommend.

Incredibly clean, cozy bed and pillows, cheapest hostel we found in town, beautiful rooftop views, air conditioning, hot water and pressure, amazingly kind staff and owner

Everything is kept clean. The staff is really helpful.. the rooms are spacious, and there's a pool table. Absolutely no complaints- would highly recommend.
