We booked this specifically because we were looking for a private pool villa close to the sea.
The resort is lovely, with great grounds and lots of activities. The staff are extremely kind and attentive.
We had minor issues on the first day, things such as the Showerhead adjustment broken, cushions outside mouldy, etc, we raised everything with the staff, these are simple things that unless you are using the room, its easy not to notice. They addressed everything immediately, apologised profusely and everything was sorted very very quickly and efficiently!
I have to say the staff here are all wonderful! If you want something, just ask!
There is a shuttle bus into town, 15:00 and 17:00 everyday, but note, you have to book the day before, AND its subject to 4 people minimum - so if no one else wants to use it if you are just a couple, you will end up having to get a taxi! I used +66 61 892 4163 - contactable via WhatsApp - very reasonably priced mini van taxi, and the guy is just outside the compound in the little shop to the right as you exit Robinson! Cheap prices for tours everything! Really recommend this guy.
The room, we booked private pool villa, we ALMOST booked beachfront, but were SO GLAD we didnt, because privacy was our absolute priority! The beach front ones, are open for anyone walking buy to see - right inside your villa, which we wouldnt have liked AT ALL! Our villa was spectacularly private, we had squirrels, a resident bat, birds, butterflies you name it enjoying the garden with us, absolutely wonderful!!
The bathroom is HUGE, with a massive bath in the middle - a bit weird with the toilet door being glass, but you find your workarounds :-D One thing I would say, the toilet seat should be replaced by a soft close - we kept forgetting and it slams really loud echoing around the bathroom and always made us jump :-D
2 separate sinks which is LOVELY, wardrobes accessible from both sides which is a great touch!
The bar area is nice - I would suggest grabbing a couple of plastic cups from the gym to have in your room - not sure why these aren’t provided, as there is a pool outside, and a sign stating no glass to be used around the pool (for obvious reasons) - I could have asked housekeeping I’m sure, but I was at the gym when I thought about it and just borrowed 2!
The bed - wonderfully MASSIVE, and very comfortable!
Great air con, nice couch, desk and table. We absolutely LOVED the villa! It was exactly what we were looking for!
Breakfast, as we were in the pool villas, we had access to the beachfront terrace breakfast area. It’s really nice, the staff are incredibly attentive. We tried the main restaurant for one breakfast - I’m lactose and gluten free, and there was a lot more choice for me to eat here! And you get to see a lot more of what is on offer drink wise, but we preferred the quiet more relaxed atmosphere of the Terrace breakfast.
The location of Robinson is problematic. We live in Asia, so are VERY used to Grab and similar delivery/driver services throughout the continent - HOWEVER, where Robinson is located is a dead zone for all of these services! None of the big food delivery services will deliver there. All deliveries stop short of the hotel 🤔
If you have a thai number, you can use the 7-11 app, they do deliver, but we never managed as we had no local number - though this was the one delivery driver we noticed coming in and out of the compound quite regularly!
For some reason, evening meals at Robinson start at 19:30 - this is WAY too late for us, which is why we were looking for alternatives.
The room service is ok, a little overpriced, and the fish and chips can be hit and miss - the first time I ordered I received a lovely massive portion - the other times, MUCH smaller and different fish, that wasn't great if I’m honest. Thai dishes are ok, but VERY overpriced.
There is a restaurant called Bambi - just to the right of the hotel if you go via the beach. The drinks are not great at
