Brylach Steading

Everything! It was an astounding two days here!! Spoiled us for the rest of our journey. Lou and Jan were perfect hosts and have created an amazing environment. We stayed in the Hayloft residence. What magic! We felt like we were in an exquisite model home but it was also warm and comfortable. The attention to detail was fantastic! The full kitchen can accommodate as much cooking as you like, the bathroom and separate bedroom so well appointed and modern while still being cozy. In fact, there is not enough superlatives to describe how much we loved this stay. The country setting was very peaceful, great for unwinding. Conveniently located close to towns and the whiskey trail but a world away. We would gladly stay for the rest of our journey, but we definitely would book this property again when we are in the area. Thanks Lou and Jan for making this part of our trip so special

Absolutely nothing

Although there was a lock box for the keys, the owner met us and showed us around the property and provided some history about the property, which was fantastic. Parking is right out in front. The view from our front property was great. The property is nice size for two with a kitchen having everything we needed and a clothes washer. The living area is comfy with a wood fire if needed (the heating in the house worked great when needed). The bedroom is large with plenty of room for clothes. The bed was comfortable and there were plugs nearby.

The property is a bit away from the towns (which may be an attraction) but not within walking distance to restaurants. There are taxi cabs that service the area.

Fun to stay in this refurbished stable—once part of the nearby castle. Amazing views with nice furnishings, updated modern kitchen and bath, and lovely courtyard. Luxurious linens and even a welcome gift.

We had a bit of trouble getting a taxi, but Louise went out of her way to help us.

We have been to this location before and always liked it. This time there were new owners, and we were very satisfied with them as well. We also stayed in a different cottage this time, and we liked that one very much too. The beds were comfortable to sleep on, although we Dutch often find them on the short side. The bedrooms were larger than you find in many cottages. We consider it a wonderful base for exploring Speyside. The owners also live on the property and are easily reachable if you have any questions; they are happy to share their tips on what to find in the area.

The only thing we didn't like about the cottage was the sofa, which was too low for our taste. The owners have already indicated that they intend to replace it. We also couldn't find any regular TV channels. However, you can access various apps via the internet, so we didn't really miss the TV.
