This was our first trip to Vis, the island my husband's grandparents emigrated from nearly 120 years ago. Anela went above and beyond to welcome us and to help us find information about our family history. One night, she even took us to see the church where his great-grandparents married as well as houses that were once part of the family. She recommended a bakery (Viski Cvit) that made traditional sweets that older family members had made and tracked down a song from childhood memories. If her hospitality wasn't enough, the apartment is spacious and comfortable. We loved having coffee by the sea every morning and taking a moment to rest and read there before dinner every afternoon. Having a bathroom on both floors was a bonus, as was having a washing machine. Such a comfortable set up. Perfect for a week. The apartment is convenient to the main part of Vis and its shops and restaurants, however, there are several lovely restaurants in Kut (both on the sea and with quiet courtyards) that are only a few minutes walk. We had terrific dinners at Vatrica, Restron Pojoda, Boccadoro, Val 2.0, Villa Kaliopa, and Lola.
I would caution travelers who have difficulty with stairs as the apartment is up a flight and on two levels.
