Le Cancalais

We loved our stay at Le Cancalais! Ultimately it all comes down to the care, attention, and hard work of all the management and staff; the result of which was a stay that proved to be a significant highlight of our tour of Northern France. From the moment you arrive the welcome is genuinely warm, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and good value (with an excellent sea view too). This would be accolade enough, but the food! The food!!! We ate in the restaurant in the evening and our meal was simply sensational. Every single mouthful of every dish was a moment to savour, and we cannot praise it highly enough. Real five-star quality worthy of Michelin recognition. As if that wasn't enough, breakfast the following morning was sublime. Eggs cooked freshly (and perfectly!) next to your table with a view out to sea was perfect preparation for the day ahead. We will be making sure that Le Cancalais becomes a regular stop, and highly recommend you pay this wonderful place a visit.

Arriving at the hotel is down a corridor, after which there's a staircase to the rooms above. The staircase looks very tired and faded and as this was our first impression we instantly thought 'Uh-oh!' But this was the only very minor downside and almost not worth mentioning, except to say that our expectations thereafter were very much exceeded!

Die Lage ist Top, alles fußläufig zu erreichen. Parkplatz vor der Tür - kostenpflichtig 3 Tage ca. 20 €. Die Hausherrin, gleichzeitig Mädchen für alles, ist von morgends bis nachts für die Gäste da. Immer freundlich hilfsbereit und gut gelaunt. Das Essen im Hotel ist super.

Die Treppe zu den Zimmern ist etwas schmal. Sonst alles Spitze.
