About this villa rental
Enjoy magical views of olive groves, cypress trees and rolling hills in this 17th century villa. Villa Mille Desideri is a six-bedroom villa with ten acres of gardens – an ideal choice for family gatherings and vacations with friends. The charming medieval village of Monterchi is a 15-minute drive away while the glorious Renaissance city of Florence is just under an hour away by train. For those long, hot summer days, there is plenty at the villa to keep everyone amused with entertainment ranging from a private pool and a badminton net to table tennis, a croquet set and a giant chess game. The villa’s location in the breath-taking Tuscan countryside is also perfect for lovers of peace and quiet, as there are 80 acres of private woodland for peaceful strolls. The nearest restaurant is just a ten-minute drive away – an extra 5 minutes on the road will take you to Monterchi which is filled with more restaurants and all the necessary shops. Visit in August to enjoy an atmospheric program of classical music concerts in Monterchi, or in September to take part in the Polenta Festival, a three-day foodie celebration. The town of Arezzo is 35 minutes from the villa and is full of history and culture. It was used as a location in Roberto Benigni’s film La Vita e Bella (Life is Beautiful) due to its beautiful architecture, such as the 12th century Santa Maria della Peive and the mighty Gothic Duomo. Arezzo hosts a huge antique fair in the Piazza Grande on the first weekend of every month and the spirited Saracen Joust in June and September. Villa Mille Desideri is owned by Nicola and Rosa, and throughout your stay, they will be on hand as much or as little you need them to be. They can arrange walks, wine tasting, horse riding or a round of gold on your behalf in addition to providing suggestions for things to do and places to visit. Nicola fires up the pizza oven twice a week, or you can enjoy a dinner prepared in your kitchen by arranged, with meals paid locally for both options. Smoking - not allowed
