Nestled behind the historic Bayards Cove you will find Gulls Nest - a perfectly equipped pet friendly apartment for one couple in the heart of this ancient, picturesque town. With one bedroom, a well-equipped compact kitchen, living room, and shower room, you're only a stone's throw from Dartmouth's riverside charms and boats connecting you across the Dart Valley. Premier restaurants and inns are on your doorstep, as is one of the world's longest and most-popular walking routes – the South West Coast Path.
Accommodation:
The front door opens immediately into the open-plan living space with a lounge area that includes a sofa and armchair, a wall-mounted smart TV and a DAB radio. A feature wall of whitewashed stonework echoes the history of the building and surrounds the fireplace with a coal-effect electric fire. In the near window is the dining table for two.
The kitchen, although compact, is complete with an oven and hob, a fridge with a freezer box, a toaster, a kettle, and a microwave.
There's a double bedroom with space to hang clothes as well as a chest of drawers.
The shower room is off the lounge rather than the bedroom. It's also where you'll find the WC.
There is no private parking or parking permit included with this apartment.

Perfect location. Parking is an issue (but this is made clear beforehand) and we always found somewhere as long as you don't mind walking a few minutes.
We noticed the same things as the previous reviewer - there was only one wine glass, and we really needed a clothes airer for our towels. In fact there is one but we only found it just as we were leaving - it's under the bed!! It would also be sensible to have a door mat to avoid wet or muddy boots on the carpet and a mirror in the bedroom would be good.
But overall we were very pleased and would stay there again if we were in Dartmouth.

Great location. We would stay here again. We did pop out to buy wine glasses and would suggest a clothes airer. Overall a great little property for 2 people.

Thanks for my recent stay in Gull's Nest. All went very smoothly and the cottage is very well organised and comfortable. Someone had very kindly put up Christmas decorations and left some mulled wine and mince pies which I really appreciated.
Just a couple of things. It would be good to have an extra duvet or heavy blanket. I was actually fine as I was there on my own so I just folded the double duvet in half to get two layers. But for two people in winter they may have been cold.
Also your directions for getting there for car drivers seemed very good. I however came on public transport. It is actually easy on public transport - I got the train to Totnes and the bus from there to Dartmouth - and a very short walk from the bus stop to the cottage. These days with the climate emergency it would be great to promote public transport more. Also better for local people in Dartmouth not to have so many visitors' cars taking all the parking. So maybe in future you could give some public transport info as well to visitors?
So all in all a good place to stay - only real drawback is that there is no real view from the windows.

The locality was great, accommodation was comfortable and clean, we would stop again. The lack of WiFi caused a slight problem.
