Balsam 1 - Well maintained 2 BR/2BA Chetola Resort condominium features wood burning stone fireplace, king master suite with spa bath, second bedroom (2 twins) with full bath adjoining and open great room design.
The Space:
This recently updated, well-maintained 2 BR/2BA Chetola Resort condominium downtown Blowing Rock has a completely remodeled master bath with a pebbled shower, nearly-white paint throughout the unit, new living area light fixtures, new curtains, and more!
This unit features a spacious carpeted living area, open to the kitchen and dining room, with a wood-burning stone fireplace and cable TV. You will also love the recently improved deck with new indoor-outdoor carpeting and comfortable patio furniture, where you can dine outside or enjoy the cool mountain air on a summer evening.
The bright kitchen is well-stocked with the basics for cooking a nice meal and has a new range and microwave/hood. The refrigerator has plenty of space to hold any groceries you plan to bring. And there is counterspace to make cooking and cleaning up a breeze!
The king master is also recently renovated and includes an en-suite bath with a large jacuzzi tub and a new walk-in shower with full-length glass doors, pebbled floor and grab bars. The vanity is also new. It has drawers and shelves for your bath and beauty items and ample fluffy towels.
The second bedroom features two twin beds. The full bath is just outside the bedroom in the adjoining hallway. There is also a washer/dryer in the condo for your use during your stay.
Balsam 1 has plenty of room for two couples or a small family to enjoy all that Blowing Rock has to offer and come home at the end of the day to a peaceful and relaxing home away from home.
The condo is in a quiet area, overlooking a grassy yard and trees, and within easy range of all resort amenities, providing a welcoming base for all your High Country adventures! These owners are Resort members, so their privileges extend to their guests. You will receive a card for access to the amenities upon your arrival. The amenities at the resort are as follows: Indoor resort pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness equipment (classes for a fee), tennis courts, pickleball courts, disc golf course, hiking trails, fishing in our lake, and paddle boats May 1st through October 16th. Timberlake Restaurant, the adjoining cozy neighborhood bar, and the resort Spa are nearby. Please call the resort for availability and prices. If you don't shop too much to carry it all back, you can even walk to the Outlet Mall close by and to downtown Blowing Rock where you can enjoy charming, unique shops and great local places to eat.
Note: Wood is not provided for the fireplace but is available in town.

My family had a restorative five nights stay at Balsam one. We love being on the property in the winter time with proximity to all the fun that the mountains have to offer. It’s also great to have the pool at Chetola for the little kids on the days when the weather is not great or people need to recover from a big day on the mountain.This condo has everything that you need.to have a great family vacation.

Condo was as described. However, the one we stayed in needs some TLC.
Light bulbs are out in the kitchen, 5000K (horrible ice white) bulbs are used in the dining area and the entryway.
Carpet on the stair is dirty. A/C unit was loud and banged on and off.
These are not deal killers, but I will examine the unit much more closely next time.
The Chetola property itself is always a pleasure to visit.

We loved staying at Chetola in Blowing Rock. It was so convenient to groceries and easy to get to App Ski mountain for two great days teaching our little girl to ski. The condo was a perfect spot to eat, rest and recharge.

Great location. Condo had good floorpan. Some updating had been done in kitchen appliances and master bath. Good mattress in master BR.
On the downside, the unit has the most convoluted TV set up I've ever seen. It was different in every room. Finally had to contact the property manager to unscramble it.
The tv in the main living area is way too small for the size of the room. Also, the channel guide posted on the tv
cabinet lists some channels that actually aren't available
when you attempt to watch them.
Oddly, we could find no sink stopper for the kitchen sink
and no tupperware type containers.
We have rented several condos at Chetola before that
were handled through the resort. This was our first through Vrbo. The quality of bathroom wash cloths, towels and toilet tissue was noticeably less in this unit.
And, it's the first place we've ever stayed where you have
to bring your own kleenex. I don't know whether the owner or the property manager controls these items,
but I don't think it's possible to find cheaper toilet tissue
than the brand we saw there.
This unit has a lot of positives and could be a really nice
option with just a little investment in details.
