Le Canet - Appartement entier 75 m2 sur Orléans

Good value stopover on our way home from the south of France, much more comfortable than the tiny rooms in the budget hotel we had stayed in on the way. Quiet neighbourhood apart from the children's playground over the road (but it was nice to hear kids out playing).

The listing mentioned air-conditioning which is one of the reasons we booked it, but it turned out to just have one floor-standing fan. I questioned this with the owner who has promised to amend the listing to make it clear that the apartment DOES NOT HAVE A/C. There was a good breeze once we had opened all the windows so the apartment cooled down quickly. There are NO TOWELS provided which is unusual and annoying. There is NO SHOWER apart from a short handheld shower hose in the bath. The jacuzzi bath was very noisy and a bit disappointing and the instructions were in French but we got the gist (basically don't disturb the neighbours by using late at night, make sure you fill it deep enough to cover jets otherwise you'll flood the bathroom) The kitchen is nice but the table top oven is very small, though we did manage to cook our supermarket pizzas in it (one at a time). The information about getting into the apartment wasn't clear. I had messaged with our arrival time but had no instructions sent. There were no numbers on the buzzers outside the main door, only names, so I did not know which one to press. I phoned the owner who buzzed me in and directed me upstairs. The door of the flat was then opened using a smart lock which was operated remotely by the owner. We found a key on the kitchen table so we could then come and go as we pleased.
