Funky apartment, clean, comfortable, good location within 10 mins each way to the port, the old city and bus/train station.

The three flights of stairs up to the apartment but it is what it is.

The apartment is well kitted out with a hairdryer, washing machine and kitchen utensils and crockery. I found the bed to bed comfy and the shower powerful. It's just 7 or 8 minutes walk from the train station, ideal if you're coming and going from there and close to the Old Port and main high street too. The apartment was clean and tidy.

There was some confusion with my early check-in. I paid but then didn't receive info to access the property. I waited an hour and then cancelled my early check-in. Once I did get the information, gaining access was easy. As other reviewers have said, whilst the location is convenient and I didn't feel unsafe, it's certainly not in the good part of Marseille. On my second day, the code to the main door didn't work. Luckily the cleaner was there and wrote down the new code for me, but I didn't receive any other communication to let me know that it had been changed. I wouldn't have wanted to be stuck outside the front door waiting for a response on WhatsApp at night, so communication could be better. There was also a pretty bad drain smell on one of the nights, that didn't dissipate. I hadn't realised the shower would be in the bedroom. It wasn't a problem for me, but did cause some spray as it's not fully enclosed.

Good location between the railway station and the Old Port. The building itself isn't too impressive but once in the room it's really good. Well equipped.

It was kind of dirty. The neighbourhood is pretty sketchy and there was a like fatal stabbing nearby.
