Jump into your car and make short work of the 8-minute drive to Bois de l'Avallon or the 8-minute drive to Bois des Hairies (and enjoy the property's convenient covered onsite parking in the meantime).

Monique is a very friendly landlord. The vacation home or castle is located in a quiet and “hidden” spot in a rural area, but only 5 km from the sea. The nearest shopping facilities are only a 5-minute drive away. The cottage dates back to the 16th century and exudes a medieval charm. During the renovation, great care was taken to ensure that this was not destroyed. When we arrived, the house was very well prepared for us. The furnishings are practical and fit well with the style of the house. We felt very comfortable. We were two people, but this house would also be suitable for a vacation with 4-5 people.

This gîte, converted from the cider pressing room of the ancient manor house of La Hougue, is full of history and charm. It is really peaceful - a kilometre from the nearest through road, with dark skies and a beautiful canopy of stars. The facilities are rustic and comfortable, with everything needed for a self-catering break away from it all.

We used this as our base for visiting the Normandy Beaches and St Mere Eglise. It met all our needs for s family of 4. Monique is a very nice host and greeted us upon arrival. Coming from the U.S. the only aspect that took some getting use to was disposing dirty toilet paper into a garbage can. But then again this is a 500+ year old estate, there was plenty of modern amenities that allowed for us to cook dinners i stead of eating out every night. Utah Beach, St Mere Église and Carentan are all a short 20-25 minute drive.
