About this villa rental
Lovely villa immersed in the countryside of Martina Franca, with a private pool, barbecue area and patio where to enjoy meals in the open-air.
The villa, which spreads only on the ground floor, opens onto a living area characterised by a vaulted ceiling with exposed stone bricks in soft tones, furnished with a double sofa bed and a flat-screen TV. An independent kitchen completes the living area coming with a dining area and equipped also with a dishwasher, an oven and a coffee machine.
The sleeping area consists of two bedrooms with a queen size bed each (one of which can be split into twin beds upon request), next to a bathroom with shower. Moreover, from the kitchen there is access to a third bedroom with a queen size bed, with direct access to the pool. Another bathroom with shower completes the indoors.
At guests’ disposal there are large outdoor spaces where to relax in the stillness of the countryside, with a private pool, barbecue area, a furnished patio and an outdoor shower.

The villa is located a few minutes away from the center of Martina Franca, located at the top of Southern Murgia Plateau. It is located in the center of southern Apulia and its historic center, of timeless beauty, still tells the glorious past of the city. The symbol of the city is the majestic Basilica of San Martino, located in the splendid Plebiscito Square, in addition to “Chiesa del Carmine”, “Chiesa di San Francesco d’Assisi” and “Chiesa di Sant’Antonio dei Cappuccini”. In Roma Square, located in the very town center, there is Palazzo Ducale, a symbol of the city government, inside which there are the museum of natural sciences and the museum of pictorial art.
Its countryside extends into the heart of the Itria Valley between ancient trulli and wonderful woods. Martina Franca is in a strategic position to reach the long Ionian beaches such as Campomarino and Porto Cesareo, or the Adriatic coast: the natural reserve of Torre Guaceto, Torre Canne and Capitolo.
There is no better place than the arcades of Piazza Maria Immacolata, where guests can sip a good DOC wine from Martina Franca and taste the typical dishes of the city served as street food during festivals, such as the rolls also called "bombette", but especially the “capocollo” of Martina Franca: a meat sausage seasoned with red wine and flavored with Mediterranean spices. A few kilometers away is Locorotondo, the city of white wine, Ceglie Messapica, a center of tradition and food and wine, Cisternino, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Alberobello whose famous "trulli" have been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1996 and Ostuni, the famous White City. About 15 kms away the Pianelle Natural Park is to be found, and a 40-minute drive away we find Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with a charming historic center, as well as Castellana Grotte.
The airports of Bari and Brindisi can be reached with a bit more than a 1-hour drive.

Punto forte della casa è sicuramente la piscina, non grandissima ma perfetta anche per bambini piccoli grazie ai gradoni per entrare in acqua. Peccato non averne potuto godere appieno, visto che Martina Franca è abbastanza ventosa e fresca la sera e la mattina (di certo non si soffre il caldo). La posizione della casa è molto comoda e vicina alla cittadina, anche se in campagna, ottima per chi vuole rilassarsi e girare per paesi, un po' lontana sia dall'Adriatico che dallo Jonio per chi vuole fare il mare. Per quanto riguarda i punti deboli: non è stato possibile comunicare con l'agenzia se non fino a 48 ore prima del soggiorno per politica aziendale, né avere un numero di cellulare in caso di emergenza durante il soggiorno (che fortunatamente non è servito). Siamo arrivati alla casa all'orario concordato ma abbiamo dovuto attendere mezz'ora fermi in macchina (con i bambini!), ci tengo a specificare non per colpa del ragazzo che ha fatto il check in ma per poca organizzazione dell'agenzia, che gli aveva dato due check in quasi in contemporanea. La casa non era così pulita, considerando i 330€ di spese di pulizie (c'erano polvere e capelli a terra vicino alle prese). Da migliorare la connessione WiFi che non consente di certo il lavoro in smart working, soprattutto in certe aree della casa (per esempio in cucina dove c'è il tavolo), nonostante fossero presenti WiFi extender. Cucinare è stato un po' difficoltoso per scarsità di utensili (non c'erano mestoli di legno e una sola pentola grande con i manici rotti) e le posate per mangiare erano proprio contate. I materassi sono duri se avete problemi di schiena. Abbiamo apprezzato il fatto di trovare alcuni prodotti già disponibili (tipo sale, olio, saponi e detergenti vari) e anche abbondanza di asciugamani e teli per la piscina. Una mattina abbiamo trovato una persona a pulire la piscina senza essere avvisati, sarebbe meglio che l'agenzia comunicasse quando viene qualcuno durante il soggiorno. Il bidet è presente solo in un bagno.
