About this house rental
Offering a blissful blend of away-from-it-all escapism and luxury boutique lifestyle, an extraordinarily gorgeous interior awaits guests, where stunning furnishings and artistic flair are outdone only by the incredible views that impose on nearly every room in the house. With space to be together and room to be apart, there are cosy picture-windowed corners to steal away to, and lavish living spaces for lounging in, including a sumptuous sitting room with its ornate fireplace that adds not only a hint of opulence but also warmth and ambience during the colder months. A fabulous fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and seating cuts a contemporary figure of design simplicity where morning coffees are savoured and home cooking is more ‘sociable soiree’ than mundane chore.
Dining is a relaxed affair with guests gathering around the farmhouse table in the kitchen to share meals and conversation while large glass doors extend the entertainment area from the inside out. Spanning the length of the house, the furnished sandstone patio offers an uninterrupted perspective of the seemingly infinite rural landscape beyond and an elevated deck with bubbling hot tub at the far end tempts long delicious soaks at any time of the day or night.
With relaxation being at the forefront of the home’s design repertoire, guests can wander down to the unspoiled grass paddock to enjoy a G&T in the sunshine, and for rainy afternoons there’s a cinema snug complete with sink-in seating, a flat screen tv and more of those exceptional countryside views.
Upstairs, three contemporary bedrooms offer beautifully styled light-filled spaces to retreat to for a late morning read or post-lunch nap, and when the sun sets and curtains are drawn, they become the cosiest of sanctuaries for a deeply refreshing night’s sleep.
Home to an attractive market square, Somerton’s pretty stone houses and independently owned shops and restaurants reside on wide, tree-lined streets weaving the old and new together in fabulous fashion. Within a short distance from the house, the town offers guests a selection of eating-out options as well as ample opportunity for filling travel bags with one-off items to take home. Slightly further afield but easily accessible, the 300 year old Newt estate in Somerset is, by its own admission ‘a place of wonderment’; with its exquisite acreage, on-site restaurant and beautiful limestone buildings making it an absolute must-visit destination while visiting the area.
Security Deposit
We ask our guests for a £500 security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

Great location, and the house was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked with bedding.
However, all of the mattresses could really benefit from an upgrade - they were very lumpy and uncomfortable.
The kitchen appliances and utensils are also in need of replacement, as many are clearly very old and heavily worn. The oven gloves had holes (which led to several burnt fingers), the tin opener was broken, the knives were too blunt to use, and several pans and trays had peeling non-stick coatings. The dustpan and brush was broken, and there were very few cleaning supplies.
The hot tub seemed to have too much chlorine, it burnt our eyes! And we couldn’t locate the control panel anywhere.
All in all, it was a good stay, but given the price, some updates would definitely be worthwhile.

Great location and beautiful view for this farmhouse.
The kitchen/dining/outdoor area is truly stunning. Beautifully decorated and fabulously spacious and comfortable.
The TV room is tiny and the bedrooms are are very small by comparison, with small beds, no mirror in the bathroom and no toiletries. I was expecting more space.
That said, the service was excellent, it was super clean and had just the right levels of basic supplies for us.
The area is gorgeous and Somerton is especially so, with great food places, with sellers who take great care of the provenance of their wares, but for a local market. Its not done for the tourists. Very special.
White Hart was a brilliant pub/restaurant and the waiter even gave us a lift home
A fabulous stay in a terrific location. Despite the upstairs space, We Would go back and take our own toiletries :)

Lovely location and outside area, garden and plant pots need a little more care and attention. Hot tub was never checked and stopped working so had to wait a day for it to be fixed. Freezer could do with defrosting. Mirrors were excellent for mirror pics.

Our overall stay at decoy farm house was lovely.
There was quite a few cobwebs hanging around so maybe a through clean is needed. Also neither of the hoovers worked to enable us to Hoover throughout the week which is needed after the grass was cut and the dogs were bringing bits of grass in. Another downside was the hot tub not working. They did come out to look at it once but it still didn’t work. The hot tub maintenance man did offer to come out to look for us but this was on our last day and therefore was no point. Very disappointing as we picked this house because of the hot tub and was unable to use it
