Founded in the 8th century BC, Naples was among the most important cities of Magna Graecia and exercised a considerable commercial, cultural and religious influence on the surrounding Italic populations. After the collapse of the Roman Empire, in the 8th century the city formed a duchy, and later, from the thirteenth century and for about six hundred years, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Naples, to then become the capital of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies until the unification of Italy.

Headquarters of the University of Naples Federico II, the oldest state university in Europe, it also houses the ‘Orientale’ University, the oldest university of synological and oriental studies in Europe. Place of origin of the Neapolitan language, Naples has exercised and exercises a strong role in numerous fields of knowledge and culture. Naples is also the cradle of the figurative arts: in fact, original architectural and pictorial movements were born, such as the Caravaggism, the Posillipo school and the Neapolitan Liberty, as well as minor but internationally important arts, such as Capodimonte porcelain and the Neapolitan manger. It is also home of a distinctive form of theater as well as a peculiar culinary tradition that includes iconic foods, such as Neapolitan pizza: in particular, the art of its pizza makers is part of the UNESCO intangible heritage network. In 1995 also the historic center of Naples was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site for its exceptional monuments, which testify the many cultures from the Mediterranean and Europe that have contributed to its development.

The central station is 15 minutes from the apartment while Naples Capodichino airport is reachable with a 20-minutes drive.

The veranda was super with view of Vesuvius and Napoli. There is no cooking facilities just a small fridge and microwave. Relatively clean building but is in old part of Napoli so some smells getting to place. Neighbours renting adjacent rooms can be heard. It is just a bed and bathroom so pretty tight quarters. But for access to restaurants and groceries it is perfect. Very comfortable. The A/C did not seem to work that well. Was a bit hot at night. But for the price a good find. Would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Solarium al Duomo. The property was very clean and the roof deck solarium was a great place to hang out and enjoy the sunshine. The room was modern and bathroom was fully updated. French doors and a juliette balcony were a plus! Read the fine print-you get your own room but the solarium is a shared space.

Very pleased with property, clean, safe and conveniently located. A bit shocked by the garbage and graffiti in Naples, but could not fault the rental property

Have stayed 7 days at this location & great place to be. Very clean, room refurbished 100 %. Only problem was getting answers from owners prior to departure as far as how to the onsite reception will proceed, who to contact upon arrival... This owner assumes that everybody is traveling with a mobile phone while having info through email, before departing, would be great. Also they interact with customers by phone and should provide communications with clients through emails also
