About this cottage rental
You are sure to love the quality finish of this modern property and its unique location on the platform of Silverdale station, a perfect location from which to explore the Lake District by train.. Ground Floor:

Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds
Bathroom: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and super-fast fibre Wi-Fi included. Highchair. Small enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. You enter this unique, stylish, fully refurbished property and on your left is the well-equipped kitchen offering plenty of space to prepare a family meal after a long day walking, cycling or climbing in the Lakes. Moving through to the generous living/dining area, this is the ideal space to recant the day’s adventures whilst enjoying a meal or a glass of wine. The living room has 2 large three-seater sofas and looks directly out onto the platform of Silverdale station, with the periodic passing of trains. Upstairs, the master bedroom offers a kingsize bed, fitted wardrobes and Sky TV. The second bedroom offers two single twin beds and of course there’s a family bathroom which has an electric power shower.
Outside, there is a small courtyard area with seating where you can view the passing trains. Silverdale is an outdoor haven, offering the RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve and Gaits Barrow Nature Reserve on its doorstep. With walks from the doorstep and local cycle hire, you have no excuse not to get out and fill your lungs with fresh air and enjoy some stunning scenery of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Silverdale golf club is located less than 200 yards from the property and welcomes visiting golfers. For those wanting more than just fresh air there are a variety of attractions within a 10-mile drive, such as Lakeland Segway’s, Leighton Hall, sky diving or for animal lovers, there are the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis or the Predator Experience. If you prefer the sand between your toes there are beaches with 1 mile, and Morecambe is less than 10 miles by train. In fact, the access to the trains opens up the whole of the Lake District National Park, you can climb aboard and travel to places like Windermere and Ambleside and enjoy some great shopping or the lovely pubs and restaurants without having to worry about the car. Whether it’s floating on a boat or dining in Michelin star restaurants, it is all within easy reach of this lovely property.

Possibly a limited audience for this cottage as it's not in a mainstream situation. But train-lovers (which we are) would love it - fabulous having the trains pull up outside your sitting room windows! (We didn't hear any train noise at night.) Golfers would also likely enjoy it. There are pleasant walks around about. Negatives: the main bedroom houses the hot water cylinder in the wardrobe, which wakes you up in the early hours of the morning, refilling and reheating. For a light sleeper it's then impossible to return to sleep, so this would definitely stop me returning. There doesn't seem to be any way of altering the timing of this. The microwave was complicated; I like cottages that put in microwaves that are simple and obvious to use! No tea / coffee provided. Lovely big TV.

Lovely cottage, in a lovely setting for travelling by car (short drive to M6 motorway) or by Northern trains as the platform is right behind the cottage.Multiple train related places to visit in under an hours drive and plenty of animal related places to visit nearby too as well as a short drive to Morecambe bay for a nice beach.The only thing about the cottage we didn't enjoy was the water heater in the master bedroom switching on at 6.30am every morning as it was quite loud, but there were instructions available on how to override the timer.We would absolutely stay again if we were visiting the area again 🙂
