Nestled on this property is a remarkable Historical Marker commemorating its role as a crucial stop on the stagecoach line heading west during that era. The original Wurzbach family ranch house, now the Main House in this listing, has been thoughtfully preserved and updated, offering guests a rare chance to enjoy modern comforts while staying in a place deeply rooted in Texas history.

Inside, the Main House welcomes you with a spacious and inviting living area centered around a beautiful fireplace. Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped and designed to serve groups well. Whether you are preparing a family breakfast, a holiday meal, or a simple dinner after a long day in San Antonio, you’ll find the tools, cookware, and space you need to cook comfortably and enjoy your time together.
Bedroom Setup
The Main House includes comfortable and flexible sleeping arrangements for groups and families. The Master Suite features a luxurious King bed, while the additional bedrooms are furnished with inviting Queen beds. The house also includes additional pull-out beds, and cots are available if needed for extra flexibility. For larger groups, additional private rooms in nearby units on the ranch may also be available.
Bathrooms
The Main House includes 3.5 bathrooms, giving guests plenty of space to get ready and settle in. Several of the bathrooms feature double sinks and roomy layouts, making the house especially convenient for families, wedding parties, retreats, and other group stays.
Scenic Views and Outdoor Setting
The ranch home sits next to the pool and enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It is an ideal setting to relax, breathe deeply, and enjoy the natural beauty of the property. Guests love the peaceful ranch feel and the sense of being away from it all while still being close to San Antonio.
Pool Access
Guests have access to the pool and the main outdoor area, which are reserved for the booking guest’s group during the stay. This gives your group a private place to relax, swim, visit, and enjoy the property together.

Please note that this is a working ranch, and the owner’s family lives in separate housing toward the back of the property. You may occasionally see them around the ranch, but the guest areas, including the Main House, pool, and primary outdoor spaces, are intended for your group’s private enjoyment during your stay.

It was magical! The house is beautiful. We loved the way its furnished and the ambience of the entire place. We had our engagement party and it was better than we could’ve imagined. I highly recommend this property.

Great property for large gatherings! Walter was an excellent host who did not bother us yet responded very quickly to any issues. We rented the entire property (main home 3 separate cottages) to accommodate 3 generations and had no issues. Other reviews mentioned random people entering the property; however, that was not the case for us. We had the property to ourselves.This is a very beautiful 1906 property so it has character and some wear and tear; however, it is clean. If you're expecting a modern home, please look elsewhere. It's on a large plot of land with ranch animals so expect to hear the rooster every morning. The kids loved running around with the chickens, petting Daisy (friendly dog), seeing armadillos at night and swimming in the pool. As it's on a ranch, expect flies, bees and an occasional scorpion; yes, it can be a nuisance but it didn't spoil our weekend. The main house has a large kitchen, 2 large eating areas and a large living area with 2 large sofas. The bedrooms are well-sized for 2 adults and kids slept on the sofas, thick mats (in the closets) or air mattresses. The cottages are very well organized and have bathrooms and a/c units; they are steps away from the main house and provide privacy for those who want to escape chaos from the main house. One cottage has a half-bath but it's connected to another cottage which has a full bath. Laundry access available up on request. Thank you again to Walter for a great stay!

The house is old, over 100 years old, but in decent shape. It does lean in some areas. The house was not in very clean condition. Lot's of insects and the pool was swarming with bee's while the kids were trying to swim. One kid was stung on the first day. We didn't realize there would be other animals, dogs, cat, and chickens on the property as we brought our two small dogs with us. This wasn't an issue, just not sure of what to expect with the unexpected encounters. The family living on the property and the workers were nice. The rooms were comfortable. While there was a washer and dryer, it is not located within the house.
