Prachtig authentiek huis met twee verdiepingen, vol met snuisterijen en oude elementen. Voorzien met hedendaagse gemakken zoals oven en magnetron. Alles is schoon,werkt prima en lijkt onderhouden. Keurig filter koffiezet apparaat aanwezig in de heerlijk koele keuken (begane grond) maar geen afwasmachine. Dus afwassen op de manier zoals het jaren lang gedaan is met een borstel. Er is een (te) grote tv op eerste verdieping (woonkamer). In de beide slaapkamers is vrijwel geluidloze airconditioning die zelf is in te stellen op de wijze zoals de gebruiker dat wenst. Er zijn horren voor de ramen geplaatst op 2e verdieping zodat je altijd je raam open kan zetten en geen insecten overlast hebt. Het 2 persoonsbed op de hoofdslaapkamer heeft een spiralen matras (gebruik ervan is wel merkbaar) en is voor mensen van max. 185-190 cm. Wij hebben hier desondanks prima op geslapen. Terras buiten biedt voldoende schaduwplekken, en er zijn heerlijke lounge stoelen (en zelfs een schommelstoel). Uitzicht is grandioos, en er staat altijd wel een lekker windje doordat er een thermische trek ontstaat door de hoogte en temperatuursverschillen met het dal. Vooral in de middag wanneer de zon het krachtigst is, is dat erg behaaglijk. NB. Parasol is niet verplaatsbaar, maar wel in verschillende standen te zetten. Wi-Fi alleen op 1e en 2e verdieping valt wel regelmatig weg. Dicht bijzijnde eetgelegenheid (Pizzosteria Al Piesto) ligt direct aan de voet van de heuvel (7 steile haarspeld bochten). Dit is te lopen 15 min naar beneden, 20 minuten omhoog! Wasmachine is inclusief (zelf wasmiddel meenemen) en werkt prima. Florence is met de trein vanaf Pistoia prima te doen (35 min) kosten retourtje per persoon 8,80 euro! Parkeergelegenheid nabij het station is parkeerplaats 'Pertini' en kun je voor 2 euro de hele dag staan ! Tip neem verrekijker mee voor het spotten van roofvogels die zweven op de thermiek! Verbeterpunten -geen mechanische ventilatie in badkamer -geen hor voor badkamer raampje -lichte roetgeur door open haard op eerste verdieping (mensen met astma of luchtwegenaandoeningen misschien niet aan te raden)

De gastheer en gastvrouw waren zeer gastvrij en gezellig. Mogelijke knelpunten werden zeer netjes opgelost. We kregen zo af en toe een heerlijke schotel, gebak of salade.

The highlight of the property is the view overlooking Pistoia where we spent many hours on the patio enjoying the beauty and serenity. On the other hand, we had a few surprises regarding the VRBO. The property listing does not indicate that the bedrooms are on a third floor accessed by a narrow spiral staircase. We would not have rented the property if we had known this as we are in our late 60's and getting our luggage up that stair was a challenge. Also, the mattresses and pillows were in extremely bad shape. The king bed sloped on both sides so much that it was very uncomfortable for two people and the twin beds weren't much better and definitely not fit for an adult. We had to layer blankets on top of the mattresses so they wouldn't be so hard. The last issue is the bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is off the entryway and kitchen (2 floors from the bedrooms) and only had a shower sticking out of the wall that was not enclosed. There was no place to put towels, toiletries, etc. in the bathroom to keep them dry. It was fine as a powder room but not as a second shower bathroom for guests. Please note that at the end of the road on the VRBO listing map you still have to drive another kilometer up a steep and winding narrow road which has 8 switchbacks to maneuver. We stayed at the VRBO for 4 weeks and adjusted to the quirkiness but found it to be charming and peaceful.
