The apartment was located right on the front in a lovely area. 2 mins to the pub and good for the planned walk in to Whitby and back (6 miles round trip) but well worth it. Nice cosy apartment, kitchen was fully stocked utensil wise which was good. It was a nice warm apartment also.
This apartment was advertised as a 5 star apartment of which the price reflects that. Although there were good things about it, there were also some things that did not meet expectations. Receiving a text the day before arrival saying they had a little storm damage to the lounge ceiling isn't ideal. Once there, it is apparent that this isn`t due to storm damage but obviously damp caused by some form of leak from outside (fall pipe id say). is is also on the chimney breast and has been for sometime. The shower also needed a good clean to get the grime off the taps and mould off the grout - again not expected in a high class apartment. The owner really needs to address this and make good to ensure everything is to perfection. You cant keep continuously charging guests and leave an obvious issue in the main lounge and expect people to just accept this and say nothing - part and parcel of owning rentals I'm afraid.

On arrival was bread milk biscuits and wine it was a lovely surprise there was everything you could think of in the apartment from cleaning products to bathroom toiletries and even phone chargers! Although as we regularly go to self catering we take our own supplies but thankyou fir the wine 🍷 x Was a lovely comfortable place.
The building entrance was clean but very old building so can't be helped about peeling paint and the smell of damp but when we were leaving the windows into the main entrance were being replaced. I found the step up to the toilet a bit strange but managed.

We were not sent the key code before arrival despite Booking,com stating the host would contact us before arrival. The village has poor Wi-Fi and mobile phone coverage so trying to contact the host was extremely difficult, after numerous attempts finally got the code
There were only hand towels provide ,even though the advert states towels provided, when we chased up with the host towels were delivered the following day.
The cooker was thick with grease and produced large amounts of smoke when we tried to use it, so we didn’t as we were afraid of setting off the smoke alarm.
The shower cubicle was covered in black mould, especially in the corners.
