We loved that it was next to the volcano park and outside of the towns. So the sky’s were open and clear to see the wonderful stars.

We loved this cozy, CLEAN cottage for its proximity to Volcanos National Park. We chose this location because Kilauea had been erupting for many many months and thought it’d be great to jump over there any time of the day or night. Unfortunately, she stopped erupting 2 days before we got there. We spent time in the park, but without the eruption, we didn’t spend quite as much time. So we did do a fair amount of driving back-and-forth to Hilo and surrounding areas-this cottage is 30-45 minutes from Hilo depending on traffic. So, if you want to be by the park, this house is the perfect spot to be by the park.
Poor kitchen lighting. We had breakfasts and dinner at the house and it was hard to see in the kitchen at night.

great proximity to volcano National park. there is parking. staff was responsive to our questions.
the furniture was virtually unuseable. obviously bought second hand if not third or fourth hand and extremely uncomfortable. there was a pervasive smell of mold throughout that did not abate with opening up windows.
