The Rosebery Retreat By The Castle 1-Bed Apartment

My mother and I had a lovely stay. A beautiful, cute apartment fit for two people. We were greeted by the cleaner when we got there, he was friendly and did an absolutely amazing job. There was not even a spec of dust, the place was absolutely spotless! There were about 4 heaters supplied and an extra blanket on the bed, so there was no way of getting cold. The street was so serene and peaceful, I loved all the cute little houses there. Basic toiletries were supplied. The bed was comfortable and plenty of hanging space/ shelving for clothes. The host was super easy to contact via Whatsapp and let us check in early when asked. There is a microwave and fridge and plenty of crockery and cutlery as expected. I would definitely recommend staying here.

There was no coffee, sugars or UHT milk. It would have been nice to have some kind of welcome pack like that. There were some teabags in the cupboard and a bag of sugar but it seemed like something left there from a previous guest. It would be more presentable to decanter into tea and sugar jars. I also struggled to get the TV to work, even when I logged into one of the apps it did not load at all. I think the TV needs replacing/repairing. Definitely bring a laptop/iPad if you want to have something to watch.

The space is small but really cozy and cute. The kitchen was well-equipped, and everything was clean.

Rating it a 9 because the home heating system was not working; and the place was cold when we arrived. They left a heating appliance as a replacement.

The lounge was cosy with the heater on. I think the heaters had been replaced recently. Hot water was always available Accommodation very small but very clean.

Parking. I saw a website advert that said free parking. The owners own information says on street parking is available at user's own risk. It is true that on street parking is available, it is ALL permit parking only between 8am and 6pm. There is NO permit provided by the accommodation. The owner says other parking is available nearby. This is incorrect. I had to park in a city centre multi storey and walk back and forth, 0.7 miles ! NOT in my opinion nearby. If this was all known at the time of booking, I would have found an apartment closer to the city. On arrival I tried to contact the owner regarding parking advice, but she didn't respond. I did speak to her business partner Ross ,who was very polite ,but isn't directly involved, who said he would get Alex to ring me. We were at the accommodation for 3 nights and no call was ever received.The parking cost £25 for 3 days. Very disappointed

Good location, quiet and calm street.

The house is very cold, by the way, I've had a super cold since I came in. The heaters in the accommodation don't work, only the furniture still can't handle it! Cold, very cold
