Ratings and reviews
The house layout and breathtaking views of the bay were spectacular. We enjoyed many hours on the deck watching the surfers in the distance, hearing the lapping waves and watching gorgeous sunsets.
The proximity to snorkeling (Kahalu'u Bay) and the beach (Magic Sands) was awesome -- easy walks from the house. We also appreciated that the house had a very nice pool, which proved helpful as we weren’t comfortable accessing the ocean directly given the tides.
Misses:
The house is promoted as two “master suites” but we missed the fine print that there is actually one king and one queen bedroom. This ended up not being a problem for our group of four adults, but was unexpected.
There was no night stand for one side of the bedroom in the Ohana suite. This seems like it could be easily remedied with even a small table. Despite numerous traps throughout the house, we encountered ants in the Ohana suite bathroom that were only mitigated by spraying.
While the house came equipped with starting quantities of most items, we quickly ran out of toilet paper, paper towels and garbage bags from the amount supplied, and ended up having to buy some basic pantry items (e.g. olive oil) because they were missing altogether.
Things to Consider:
The house is on a busy two-lane road, and the noise from passing traffic was quite noticeable from the Ohana suite. We were able to mitigate this by running the box fan for white noise. There are multiple outdoor security cameras (some of which point directly into the main living area). We appreciate the need for security but found this a bit off-putting.
There is no water filtration system and we learned at check-in that while potable, the tap water doesn’t taste good, so we ended up buying cases of bottled water instead.
Overall Impression:
Quite simply, this house has the “wow” fact
