An hour and a half from Clermont-Ferrand and Lyon, in the heart of Le Puy-en-Velay, at the foot of the cathedral, renowned as the starting point of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago), lies the "A l'ombre du Laurier" (In the Shade of the Laurel) guesthouse. Located on the ground floor of a historic building, Mr. Nicaud will welcome you for a truly memorable and timeless experience.
The apartment is a true haven, blending respect for the old stonework with modern comforts. The undeniable highlight of this guesthouse is its charming enclosed courtyard, filled with flowers and beautifully landscaped beneath a laurel tree, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll find a peaceful retreat where you can enjoy the shade of this magnificent tree, perfect for dining, reading, or simply relaxing in complete privacy.
Nearby, you can explore the many monuments of Le Puy-en-Velay, stroll through the vibrant Saturday market, and take advantage of the proximity to all amenities.

Cleaning is available as an optional extra at €50 per stay. You have 15 kWh of electricity per day for heating the cottage (any excess consumption will be charged to the hosts on site). The cottage is located on one of the most beautiful cobbled streets in the old town.
The entrance to the accommodation is through the living room, which opens onto the inner courtyard and features a magnificent period fireplace (not functional).
Adjacent to the living room and also opening onto the outside, the kitchen, although small, is fully equipped: stovetop, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and everything you need to cook.
Behind the kitchen is the bedroom with a shower room and toilet.
The cottage has internet access.
The all-inclusive rate includes: bed linen and towels for the stay, end-of-stay cleaning (excluding dishes and trash), heating, and electricity with reasonable consumption – if the cottage is heated by electricity, you have 15 kWh per day available (any excess will be charged to the hosts on site).
