The Sorabellas

Amazing hosts that were very helpful and kind. Location is perfect on a quaint street and the apartment itself is perfect and well equipped. We travel all over the world and this was one of our top experiences.

It was a wonderful visit: - Michele was a gracious host, who loves his town, and makes every effort to share his personal knowledge so that you might love it too. - The location of the apartment is ideal. It is located on a principal historic street in the heart of a historic district with a wide variety of restaurants, bars and artisanal stores nearby. Eveything in town is walkable from the apartment. - The apartment is bright, clean and comfortable. It has every modern convenience you might need. - Gaeta is a great walking town that offers a wide variety of sites and experiences. There are historic fishing communities, midieval neighborhoods, Roman era buildings and ruins, forts and defensive structures everywhere, and more churches than you can shake a stick at. There are also many natural attractions: a seaside promenade, a large park centered around Mount Orlando, cliffside trails, and a variety of attractive beaches. There are also a few 'can't miss' tourist sites such as Split Mountain, the Angevine-Aragonese Castle, the Roman Mausoleum, the Golden Chapel, and the San Francisco Church, to name a few. - While my experience was colored from being in Gaeta in the off-season, my sense was that Gaeta was a serene, underappreciated and somewhat overlooked town. It seemed an authentic and charming town that has thus far avoided over-tourism. I look forward to visiting again. And I thank Michele for sharing his town.

No complaints. A great stay.

There are so many good things to say about my stay at the Sorabellas, only good things. The hosts were responsive from booking to arrival, kind enough to accept a very late in the evening/last minute request, to offering an early check-in time if we needed it, ready to provide info about the parking/ZTL zones if we had a car, but in our case, Michele offered to pick us up from the train station in Formia. Just amazing hospitality. Michele went out of his way to show us the beautiful town of Gaeta, recommending places to stop by during our time here. He then sent these recommendations in WhatsApp, but they even have a website for their guests to more easily navigate this information. When we arrived at the Sorabellas, Michele showed us around the place, including where and how to get to the rooftop terrace with the gorgeous view. The stairway up is a bit of a narrow spiral, but my partner and I had no issues getting up there, even with our hands full, as long as we were careful and took our time going up and down the steps. We also briefly met his wife as she was tidying up another studio. They are a delightfully lively couple. The studio was clean and cozy and tastefully decorated. It has everything you could want in a stay: a full equipped kitchen, a fridge with snacks and water. The bathroom was also very clean, with plenty of towels and hygiene products (and slippers!). The shower water got hot and the pressure was great. The bed was very comfortable, with the option to remove the mattress topper too (we didn’t need to, it was perfect). There was plenty of storage as well, though we didn’t need much. The location was excellent. You could get to the waterside by walking a block over, and downtown a few minutes away. Plenty of stores to shop at, restaurants to eat at, and the beaches were near as well. I may be forgetting to mention other highlights about our stay, but we had everything we needed during our stay here and more.

I have no complaints.

The apartment was lovely and close to the beach and seafront. The host was friendly and had prepared beer and snacks for us. The room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed, including a very useful washing machine. We enjoyed breakfast on the rooftop with a great view and sunshine. The host also gave us a 10% discount voucher for a local restaurant, which was helpful.

The room felt a bit tight once the sofa was converted into a bed, but everything was still comfortable and well-arranged.
