The Bolle di Magadino for bird watching, the Maggia valley, the Verzasca valley and the Onsernone valley - to name just 3 of the picturesque valleys - are also close by, or you can hike or cycle up the surrounding mountains, or simply along the lake or the Maggia. Locarno itself has a spa and 2 public swimming pools, the Camellia Park, a falconry, various museums, a castle, churches worth seeing and a beautiful old town. Ascona is 4 km away, Bellinzona, the capital of the canton of Ticino with its famous castles, is 16 km away, Lugano 22 km and Milan 85 km. the Locarno Film Festival, Moon and Stars or the Ascona Jazz Festival and much more ensure international fame. as WiFi is available, the flat is also well suited as a home office.
