More pans for cooking. Cleaning in certain areas could be better.

I liked having a whole flat to ourselves. Much more private than a hotel and quite spacious. The location was very quiet and there was plenty of parking. A car would be fairly essential as shops are quite a walk away. The kitchen was adequate to cook a simple meal in. Some instructions for the oven would have been handy. The kitchen equipment was quite basic but I managed to cook a meal. There were lots of useful spices and herbs in the cupboards and tea, coffee and sugar were provided. No teapot though, but there was a coffee maker. No dishwasher, but there was a washing machine and an ironing board and iron. The bathroom had a bath with a good shower over it. It was spacious and had a window. The flat was warm and the settee was comfortable. Huge TV in the living room. The bed was comfortable. There was a dining table but only 2 chairs, although the flat sleeps 4. Since there were only 2 of us that was fine. No tablemats to protect the nice table so improvised by turning a dinner plate upside down to use as a pot stand. Plenty of coathangers and ample wardrobe space. Limited drawer space but fine for a weekend. I would stay again despite having to roll my sleeves up and clean.

Cleaning standards and not checking maintenance let this flat down. Although the flat was superficially clean and the bedding and towels were clean, attention to detail was lacking. The base of the taps in the bathroom and round the hinges of the toilet seat hadn't been cleaned properly. The skirtings and electrical sockets had stoor on them. This was particularly obvious at the sides of the stair case . There was a huge build up of post and junk mail in the lobby dating back to election and census time, neither of which are recent. The fridge hadn't been cleaned and the milk shelf was particularly filthy. I cleaned it.. Coasters hadn't been wiped and had cup rings on them. There was a piece of pizza crust under the table and on a dish in the oven. The grill pan hadn't been washed so was full of dirty fat. The oven was similarly grubby. The bin had a bin bag in it, but when I emptied it there were slices of tomatp in the bottom of the bin so it hadn't been washed out between occupants. Kitchen cupboards were full of crumbs. Finding a couple of syringes on the floor (fortunatelly in packaging) was a bit disconcerting. A previous guest may have been an insulin dependent diabetic, but I don't expect to find even clean sharps in a holiday apartment. The light in the cooker hood needed a bulb, which since there was no under unit lighting made the kitchen gloomy. A bulb was out in the ceiling fitting in the living room. The airer in the laundry cupboard was buckled. A bit of litter picking and weeding round the common areas would have added to kerb appeal . No pillow protectors and quite cheap pillows and bedlinen. Curtains had been laundered but shrunk unevenly, so were a bit lopsided. Only one bedside table and lamp for a double bed. Had to climb up and straighten the ceiling lampshade. A good deep clean and replacing the bedding and curtains would make this a fantastic flat without spending a lot if money.

Modern accommodation, nice bathroom and good sized lounge. Easy access and parking. After a bad start, where we could not contact the agent, the owner of the property arranged for a hotel for the first night.

Accommodation was not ready when we arrived as it had not been cleaned. Had to spend the first night in a hotel. Difficult to locate in the dark due to random house numbering. The house only had two dining chairs, there were three of us. The apartment was very minimal - no hooks in the bathroom or bedrooms, just the very basics in the way of furniture and bare walls and odd curtains. Lights not working, boiler pressure very low. Good job I knew how to fix it and bleed the system. Without Sean's help our stay would have been very difficult.
