Blackout blinds were great. Joe and Marie were great hosts. Very clean and tidy but still homely.
I could have done with an extra blanket to use in the evening, but it was plenty warm enough through the night.

This was the cheapest option for a self catering room and provided we with an en-suite bedroom and shared kitchen facilities in a shared house. The bedroom and en-suite were clean and adequate for my long weekend stay. The kitchen was a domestic kitchen with refridgerator and washing machine. I used the microwave for heating up ready-meals. Joe was very friendly and made we a mug of tea when I arrived after a difficult train journey and on the next day when I arrived back from my day's activities.
The kitchen needed a clean as several people in and out and didn't clear up after themselves. I washed up the cups and cutlery others had left on 3 occasions, bearing in mind that I had been out both days and not used the facilities, other than when I had my ready-meals. I ate out for breakfast and dinner. The sink and washing up bowl needed a good clean, that I was not able to do myself. On Sunday morning I got up at 7 to have a quiet leisurely start before I went out for the day, and at 7.30 I was assaulted by a cacophany of loud 'jungle music' coming from the large camper van parked outside my room. I think a young relative of Joe was staying there, I think Joe must have had a word for it stopped but too late as I was on my way out. I wish I had taken some photos.
