Nice stay for one night, room was a bit outdated and could do with. Comfier bed. Fair price and pub food and breakfast were good.

Difficult to review as the old hotels rooms need alot of refurbishment and at *** was overpriced .As regarding the evening dinner and breakfast the food was exceptional. Service quality.cooking and presentation were of the highest order

Great little hotel surrounded by rolling hills. Busy place so make sure you book your dinner, which is excellent. Same goes for the breakfast, good quality food. Only minus was that our radiator in tge room wasn't working. Down in the dining area there is a coal fire which does the trick.

Great location, great food, but the accommodation needs a little TLC. For the price we paid for the room we expected the quality of the room to be better. There was no fridge, no bath towel hook, towels slightly solid and tired decor. It could have done with a deep clean. On the plus side the bed was clean and comfy. Some of the staff could do with a little customer service training. I must also mention it is recommended to book a table in advance if you intend dining at the Strands. We ate there one night and the food was very good, though the second night we were unable to get a table. I understand they were busy however we were not advised we should book a table when we checked in, or within the room info. I also overheard a member of staff saying they cater for reservations that guests may not have booked in advance, however this clearly was not the case as we had to travel elsewhere. We did also ask if takeaway was an option but received a flat no- not very accomodating. Breakfast service was good, food lovely and plenty of options. Great area to stay but when we revisit we shall be selecting alternative accommodation.
