Cottage in village of Mevagissey Cornwall Sleeps 4

The location was excellent! A stone's throw from lovely galleries, shops and food outlets. It is close to the car park as well. The host was informative in advance and gave good tips for parking, eating, pre-booking, etc.

Whilst the cottage and location are great, this place suffered from lazy hosting unfortunately. No linen is provided, and on arrival you have to make the beds. On lifting the mattress to put a sheet on it was clear the bed frame had not been dusted in quite a while. Bedroom picture frames at eye level were also un-dusted, and there were hairs on the bedside lamp. Only the middle of floors appeared to have been hoovered, with edges, and around furniture legs still dusty. The bathroom also didn't appear freshly cleaned, with dust/hair evident. You have to remember to switch an immersion switch on in advance of needing a shower, and remember to turn it off again after. (The electric is via a coin meter. You also have to get £1/£2 coins to feed this). The lack-lustre electric shower at the end of the wait, was disappointing too. Cups/glasses had not been washed properly, presumably by previous hirers, and had clearly not been checked before my arrival. Many had coffee residue and glasses had greasy finger marks on. This place has potential to be an excellent weekend getaway, but I feel the attention to detail is missed, which is a real shame. Other places I've stayed have thoughtful extras to make you smile on arrival. Here I would have been happy just to feel it was properly cleaned. :-(

Fantastic little cottage within a two minute walk to the shops, pubs, restaurants and harbour.

Visited really early in the year (March 2nd) so am sure the odd coat of paint here and there will be on their radar before the season starts but this didn't have any negative effect on our stay at all.

So many positives - the host was super responsive and answered all questions very quickly, the location was perfect and very close to the harbour and car park, the cottage itself was well-stocked with amenities and very cosy with the oil heaters, the bed was very comfortable, and overall we had a wonderful Christmas in the cottage. The information regarding the electricity meter was sent immediately after booking and for 4 days in a cold snap in December (using all heaters and the oven) we spent a little under £20, which seems reasonable. They even decorated for us as we were there for Christmas Day - a really lovely touch.

The upstairs decor is a little dated and the bathroom could have a been a little cleaner (just some dust). The curtains in the kitchen are also quite transparent, making it somewhat easy to see into the property.
