Escape into the true untouched beauty of the Texas Hill Country at Steinhaus Ranch. Steinhaus Ranch, which is German for Stone House, is a restored German Ranch House in the Texas Hill Country between Castell and Llano, Castell is home to a digital recording and video studio, writers, artists and progressive German descendants. It features several historic buildings, old churches, cemeteries, Llano River views, the Castell General Store, a Post Office and Community Club. A person can come here, relax, fish, kayak, make music and just enjoy the peace and quiet. From Steinhaus Ranch you travel 1 mile to CR 103 to enjoy the swimming hole and do some fishing .The home is big enough for the whole Family to have a reunion, Corporate retreat, wedding venue, a girl or guys weekend away to enjoy whatever you fancy. Come, be our guest at Steinhaus Ranch. This is the place to retreat and reconnect with family and friends. The Main home sleeps 11 comfortably and children are welcome. Listed rate is for an occupancy of 11 people. It’s the perfect mix of vintage style and modern conveniences.
Additional guests get access to cabin and are charged $35 per person per night.
Ranch House & guest house combined will sleep a total of 14 people.
The separate cabin will sleep 3.
Code to guest house is not given out unless occupancy is over 10 and the additional fee has been paid.

Great place to get away, nice and quiet. The hoyse had anything you might need. If you like the outdoors and sit ourside and enjoy the sunrise and sunsets, this is the place. Best part is that since there isn't internet the kids had to intertain themselves and had to interact with others. We loved the history of the place and its rustic look. We will definitely come back soon.

We loved staying here during our recent trip to the Hill Country. We had plenty of room, comfy beds and loved sitting outside and seeing the beautiful stars in the sky.

Steinhouse Ranch is the lovely old Oestreich house near Castell. It is an original settlers home built out of local rock. Perfect location for our family during an annual family reunion. Steinhouse Ranch has plenty of beds for a large group. There are cattle around the house to enjoy. True country living.
