About this cottage rental
Our two bedroom cottage is ideal for families or couples travelling together. Comprising two en-suite rooms, one with a king bed and one with a double and single bed, lounge area with wood-burning stove and kitchen facilities, the cottage allows you to enjoy your own space while still benefitting from the pub/restaurant on your doorstep. Well-behaved dogs are permitted (charge applies).
The Blue Bell Inn, Crookham, is set in some of North East England’s most spectacular countryside. Marvel at the views in the Cheviot Hills, take in the dramatic Northumberland coastline or make the short hop over to the beautiful Scottish Borders.
We’re sure once you’ve visited Northumberland you’ll only want to spend more time here, so why not stay a few days and discover what the region has to offer. Relax in one of our comfortable, individually designed rooms and enjoy the Blue Bell Inn hospitality.

For history buffs, the Blue Bell is a mere mile away from the site of the Battle of Flodden, which claimed the life of James IV of Scotland in 1513. September 2013 marked the 500th anniversary of Flodden and events are taking place throughout the year to commemorate the occasion. Visit the Flodden Ecomuseum for more information.
Just a couple of miles from the Blue Bell, Ford and Etal Estate offers a number of attractions, including the 14th century Etal Castle, the Heatherslaw light railway and Lady Waterford Hall, as well as cycling routes and delightful walks along the river Till.
A short drive will take you to Berwick upon Tweed, England's border town, from where you can follow the enchanting coastal route to explore the mighty fortress of Bamburgh Castle, cross the causeway to Holy Island, or spot puffins, terns and seals on a boat trip to the Farne Islands.

Easy check in when we arrived at 8.30pm. Found dirty bed linen on landing that hadn’t been removed so reported it to hotel and they came and cleared it. Rather disappointed with kitchen. I know we were only staying one night but dishwasher wouldn’t open right down as hit against door frame. No cutlery compartment in dishwasher either. In two cupboards in kitchen there were tins of paint and dirty towels stuffed in one and a dirty towel stuffed in another. The fridge had several bits missing . No bottom shelf over vegetable compartment and storage compartments iN door were missing apart from bottom one. The fact it cost us 200 to stay one night and find it like this was rather shocking. Will not be staying there again. I have photo evidence proof of these things in the kitchen if required
