The Space:
Welcome to a luxury view home: Blue Grouse. This charming mountain-style home features awe-inspiring, sweeping views of Lake Pend Oreille and Bottle Bay. Perched upon the hillside of Gold mountain, the home is designed to embrace the scenic lake views below. An open main floor plan features a large kitchen and informal eating area that opens out to a covered deck. The rustic farm-styled dining table easily seats 6 and the entire family with love the great room with large fireplace and huge glass windows.
Two main floor bedrooms (one with Queen bed and the second with two twins), plus main floor sleeper sofa, full bathroom and laundry make up the rest of the main floor. Head upstairs to an exquisite master suite with King bed, luxury linens, large bathroom with shower and separate tub. An additional sitting area resides just outside the master bedroom making a great reading and relaxation area. Additionally, there are two extra-large luxury tri-fold mattresses (very comfortable) and two kid-size folding mattresses available for additional sleeping, but not listed as part of the home's bed configuration.
This family home is ideal for anyone who wants to relax in a well built home overlooking nature's beauty. Watch bald eagles soar above the lake. Soak and stretch in the hot tub, and take in the panoramic views of 43 mile long Lake Pend Oreille and the Selkirk and Cabinet mountain ranges. Read a book and or watch a movie, warmed by the two gas fireplaces. When it's time to eat -- all will enjoy this fully appointed kitchen. Then when it's time to sleep, great linens, pillows and blankets ensconce you.
Outside the living, dining and kitchen areas is a large deck that wraps around the lake view side of the home. Great for sitting and eating outside.

The house was clean and well stocked. We absolutely loved sitting on the porch looking out at the lake. It’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. We would highly recommend staying there. The only issue we had was the master bedroom does not have blinds and the sun rise was at 4:30am!! Kinda an issue if you wanted to sleep in on vacation. :)

This place is so relaxing, we recommend it to anyone that is looking for a peaceful retreat. The view from the deck was amazing, sweeping 180 degree views of the lake and mountains. Deer were grazing several days in the yard. We did go at an off season time, so I imagine it gets crowded at peak season and the road to get there is quite narrow. We had a few hiccups at first, such as no laundry soap (so check and make sure you have it), the hot tub was not ready, but it was all remedied. The property management company was the best we have ever encountered and we use a lot of VRBO. They responded quickly and went over and above to help. I accidentally forgot something and they mailed it to me. I can't say enough great things about them!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay during Thanksgiving break with our family this year. My husbands parents and sister joined us last minute, we notified the management company and there was no problem adding on a few extra guests to our stay. Wonderful view, excellent hot-tub and amazing kitchen stocked with quality cooking equipment. Can't wait to stay next again next year.
