The house was modern and clean although the complementary orange juice left in the fridge smelt of smoke which was odd.
We had booked 2 bedrooms as we always do but when we arrived the second bedroom was locked with a combination lock... firstly not sure if this is legal as may have had the fire escape in as the main bedroom did not and secondly we paid for a 2 bedroom as it was advertised at. Andrea had asked if I wanted twin or double bed in main room but never said that other room was going to be locked.
The garden was over grown, faced a building yard and the 'garden view' again as advertised included next doors yard that was full of dog pooh. There was no facility to recycle and if we went out to the bins they we full of alsorts and it was not clear if recycling took place at all. Again area near bins was littered with dog pooh.
We had read on a previous post that someone was deducted 25 pounds from their deposit (for late check out), which Andrea actually asks to be paid into her account and is not cash as again stated and you have to wait over an hour for if to be transferred back if no faults/damages are made so did not want to be any bother to her. We felt anxious and on our toes all the time there and when the light bulb blew on the last night we was worried that we may somehow be deducted money as it tripped the bedroom light too. My partner couldn't look to re set as again door with fuse box in was locked.
Lastly there was not one cleaning product, no wipes or hoover or brush assessable and no cleaning products for the bathroom. During a pandemic I think it would be highly advisable to have some of these for guests. Some people may think we should take our own but we have stayed in numerous houses etc and never had this especially post covid. It was also 280 with 2 small dogs for 3 nights so to buy cleaning products would have been even more expense.
