Winding up through the village you come to Elata stone house, set in a quiet location. The house is wonderful and has been beautifully renovated. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom is bijoux with a modern design.
We were met by the lovely owners, Kostos and Kiriakia, who took us to the house, welcomed us with a shot of mastica, and pointed out the village square, the cafés and the little shop (even though it was past 11pm).
The neighbours were lovely, baking us sourdough bread and biscuits, and we were made to feel welcome by the whole village. The village square is the central focus for everyone in the evening, and was a relaxing spot to have a meal and be a part of village life.
Elata is an ideal location on the island, only 10-20 mins to Pyrgi and Mesta, and the wonderful beaches, all so different.
We covered the whole island in the 2 weeks we were in Chios, and found it to be a lovely, welcoming island.
We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Chios, as out of all the places we visited, Elata was the best. We will be recommending it to friends.

The house is located at a strategic spot for anyone wishing to make excursions in the southern part of the island. There are multiple options for beautiful beaches while beautiful and famous Mesta is only ten minutes away.
I highly recommend it and would definitely stay again at the same house as the hosts are hospitable and very helpful with everything. Photos are exactly like in reality and all the amenities make you feel like home.
