The place was clean and well appointed, close to public transport, restaurants and supermarkets. We enjoyed our stay.

Great communication and the host representative, Hasan, was the best feature! He explained everything in broken English, which was far better than my nonexistent German or Turkish. We 2 guests got exactly 2 small towels. 1 roll of paper towels for kitchen. 3 rolls of toilet paper. The blow dryer cord was damaged and it kept cutting in and out. The clothes washer worked fine, the dryer did not work at all. It warmed the clothes I ended up hanging them up and they were dry after two days, but this was one of the features that I need at the apartment for very disappointing. There are many stairs up, it’s on the fourth floor, if you are old or have mobility issues, absolutely take this into consideration, it appears someone tried to push the bathroom window open in the middle of the night during our first night there. I woke up to a freezing bathroom and then started seeing things and realized there were 3 to 4, stinging insects, large, flying around . Hasan came right over! He said the window was open. I had not opened it and it was not open the night before. You can get directly onto the porch of this apartment from the ground floor. Distressing. Everything was clean and usable, but bare-bones, and the furniture was not comfortable to sit on. The location was good and close to restaurants, Hasan and the cleanliness were the biggest factors for the rating. Really bare minimum as far as an apartment goes, but we had very little choice b/c we booked late for Xmas markets.

We took our family to Cologne for our son's wedding so we were looking for an alternative to hotel rooms close to the Wolkenburg. The apartments were modern and clean as advertised. However, we did have to compromise some comfort. The weather was very hot during our stay. Air conditioning is not common in Cologne, but it would have been nice to at least have a couple of fans. The street noise is definitely an issue if you have to open the bedroom windows at night. The train isn't really as noisy as the truck and motorcycle traffic, which was extremely loud and active until the early am hours. I actually had to sleep on the couch in the living room one night because it was too hot to close the window and too noisy to leave it open. We rented both apartments for our group and what is not noted is that the two apartments are in two separate buildings! We realized that we would have to walk up four floors, but thought that both apartments were adjacent to one another. Not so. You have to go down four floors, go outside to the next building, and back up four floors to go between apartments. If not for these issues, we would have really enjoyed staying in these apartments. They are well equipped. The owner does provide good customer service. If you are looking for good, clean, modern economical alternative to hotel rooms and it is not during the hot summer days, I would recommend these apartments. To the owner, I would recommend to purchase a few fans for summertime rentals. It would have made a huge difference in our comfort.
