Once we'd received our joining instructions, a long, drawn out procedure due to links not arriving, we could relax! Booking.com staff were very good and persistent in dealing with this. The apartment was clean and the beds very comfortable. The location was good for the historic centre (being a short distance from it) and there were plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

The area was a little run down but we felt safe. We were a little concerned that a window fell out, into the shower. Fortunately no-one was badly injured, just shaken! The Booking.com staff were excellent and were in touch in the small hours to make sure we were okay. So, although there were a few issues, Booking.com dealt with them well.

The location is amazing but can be tricky for people with mobility issues. We stayed in unit 39 which has private balcony facing all Alcazaba. Flat has lift. I’d recommend staying here if you come in a group.

Can do with a little bit of floor cleaning

Location, location, location. Although when we took a taxi from the airport, when we gave the address, the driver told us it was a very bad area. It scared us a little. I have no idea what he was talking about because seriously, we were steps away from everything. If he meant it was multicultural, it was, and I’m totally fine with that.

On our arrival on Sunday, the elevator wasn’t working. We had to go up 5 flights if stairs with our suitcases. Thank goodness a friendly neighbour and a cleaning lady gave us a hand. It was fixed later on. The real HUGE problem however are the walls. They are paper thin. As if 6:00 am, we could hear people talking so loud it felt like they were in our apartment. No exaggeration. From the ladies and their children running around and playing and screaming, to the men doing the construction work, (yes, there was also construction going on outside our window, ) every single one of them sounded like they were in our bedrooms with us. It was sooooo loud. We would wake up exhausted. I was looking forward to going home just to get a good night’s sleep. That was the biggest problem with the apartment.

Distance from historic centre was good and apartment met our requirements for space. The outside area was useful.

There were no instruction booklets to use cooker: air condition, TV was the poorest there were no English links to any stations.. This is first time anywhere that I have used.RUBBISH we had to walk down the street to nearest open big bins. No one met us or visited during our stay to check us in.INSTRUCTIONS are a must in any apartment. Plus an unmarked corner step by bottom of lift entrance is a HAZARD
