We loved the excellent ambience of the hotel. Parts of the building were originally within the chateau estate. The bedroom was more like an apartment with separate lounge area. the breakfast was lovely with a nice choice of charcuterie, cheese home made yoghurt with fruit compote, and homemade cakes and honey. The chateau entrance is very close to the hotel and you even get discounted entry to the chateau. Our host was exceptionally helpful and welcoming.

Nous sommes venus dans le même hôtel qui était alors un Relais et Château il y a 48 ans... Nous avons évidemment été un peu déçu même si la propriétaire fait tous son possible pour rendre le séjour aussi agréable qu'elle le peut.
Difficile, c'est tout un village qui dégringole et cela n'est pas facile à relever.

Le petit déjeuner est simple et copieux avec des produits faits "maison": confiture, gâteaux, yaourts, ... La maîtresse de maison est très attentionnée et n'hésite pas à proposer son aide pour des réservations de restaurant.

Very spacious suite, as name suggests just next to the chateau. Hosts were welcoming and helpful.
Very dated decor, slightly bizarre arrangement with toilet at one end of the suite near the door and bathroom with bidet next to bedroom! Valançay itself was a bit of a ghost town when we were there, the two restaurants recommended by host were closed. Pizza was the only option.
