We have stayed here before and liked it so much we booked again. But unlike before, this time we were not as happy. First, we came in after an 8 hour drive. We checked in, booked in for dinner, and were given keys to our room. We were disappointed to find that there was no way to make coffee or tea in the room, and no water provided. We went back down to ask the receptionist if we could get a cup of coffee - nobody was there. There was no way to 'call' for anyone. We ended up walking down the road to get a cup of coffee. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view from the window was spectacular. The next morning, we had breakfast and packed to go. By the time we had finished packing, the breakfast room was closed, and there was nobody in sight at the reception desk. So we did what millions of people do - we put the room key on the reception desk and left. A few days later, we received a threatening email from someone at the hotel saying we had "fled" without paying for our meal and that they would "call the authorities" if we didn't pay up!! Well, we were astounded, because we thought this had been added to our card charges. No invoice or bill had ever been presented to us at any time, and nothing had been mentioned during or after our meal. We repeatedly asked (daily), via Booking.com, for an invoice including details on how we could pay by either Paypal or bank transfer. Several days later, we received an email with the invoice, and immediately paid. But we were very put off by the completely unnecessary threats made by the establishment, and we won't be staying there ever again because of it.
