Èmar Corfu

The property was fantastic. We stayed in a 'King Suite' which had a massive double, & the kids had a single sofa bed each. It was a huge studio apartment with a massive balcony overlooking the pool. The property was very modern and clean and the hosts were so friendly, as were all the other guests. Our kids were very welcome but the atmosphere also suited adults too. The pool was beautiful with plenty of loungers even in mid august. It's a 2 minute walk to Arillas beach - one of the nicest we visited in corfu. The water was calm, it's sandy and there are umbrellas to rent or spaces to put a towel if you wish. The kids loved it. There are plenty of tasty restaurants on the beach and around the small village. The villages in Corfu often have narrow roads so this was similar but very easy, and there were areas to park if the hotel itself is full. There are a couple of shops to buy food & beach stuff like inflatables. In general it's one of the less busy beaches, no water sports and a calmer vibe all round which we loved. There are some late night bars, and one near the hotel the music can we quite noisy till about midnight. But in our room we barely heard it as we were across the pool from it.

There is nothing I didn't like about this hotel.

The location was perfect only a 5 minute walk to the beach, the accommodation is just behind the Bouyata restaurant and Malibu Bar which are owned by the same family. This is a family business and you can see they really are about your experience they were all amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, restaurant was really nice and lots of entertainment between the restaurant and Bar. The pool was a lovely sun trap with plenty of shade if needed and comfortable sun beds. All in all a wonderful place to stay and wonderful people looking after your every needs.

Nothing not to like

The King suite was fantastic... spacious, clean and comfortable, with facilities to cook on site and a wonderful large terrace overlooking the fabulous pool... and with sight of the sea. The pool was very comfortable and relaxing and the service was exceptional. Greek night was great fun and so was the food. Theo was a fantastic addition to the team... in fact he was an integral part of it. He was everywhere at once and doing everything from sweeping the pool area to making cocktails and serving drinks - to fire dancing!! Best all, he was exceptionally warm and friendly and made us feel right at home. We were sent a very warm and welcoming text message from Marou before arriving and she was very helpful when we told her I had left my glasses on the bus. Unfortunately, despite her efforts, she did not get anywhere with the bus station which was not her fault. I really appreciated that she tried her best. She helped with our other request too. The proximity to the beach, local bars and restaurants and supermarkets was perfect. It's relatively quiet and peaceful in Arillas and we loved the friendly people there and the allover vibe.... not forgetting the glorious sunsets!

Nothing serious... all little things that did not spoil what was a wonderful stay. But for the sake of feedback I will mention a few minor things. As beautiful as it was, it was a little bit hard to navigate the pool as it was in the middle of a jungle and hard to avoid the trees when walking around! :-) Personally I would have appreciated more sunbeds not shaded by trees. It was a shame that we had intermittent problems with the hot water supply although it was always sorted when we reported it. By the time we left the water was cold again and the sink tap down to a trickle. Secondly, we had read about other guests' experience of ants in the room and we had the same problem. I'm guessing nothing can be done about it. We really enjoyed the Greek night but it would have been nice to be apprised of the extra cost beforehand.

Lovely apartment, spotlessly clean. Nice pool, very central. All of the management and staff were lovely people. A special mention for Theo, Tina and Maria who were outstanding, so friendly and helpful. Theo and Maria’s Greek dancing demos were superb.
