About this house rental
Our country house has two independent apartments one below the other, which we like to call "Le casine del non tempo", for the peace they transmit, according to the friends we generally host.
The upstairs cottage is accessed via a two-ramp staircase, at the end of which opens a delightful terrace covered by a wooden roof, equipped with wicker armchairs and a table for outdoor dining, with a wonderful view of the whole valley, which on clear days reaches the sea.
The apartment consists of a very bright living room - kitchen, with a window right on the sink facing the valley and an entrance French window, protected by a railing; a spacious bathroom with tub and window and a double bedroom with window.
The living room, divided from the bedroom by a door, has a sofa bed for one and a half, so the cottage can easily accommodate a family of four.
The cottage, which has some characteristic stone walls, is tastefully furnished, according to the Tuscan style.
It is not equipped with a television, for our choice, while it will soon have wifi.
The apartment on the ground floor consists of an equipped kitchen, also equipped with oven and dishwasher, communicating with a living room, with a double bed (separated by a wicker partition) and a double sofa bed. The bathroom with window has a shower with a characteristic stone wall. Even this apartment does not have a TV, but will soon have wifi. It can comfortably accommodate a family of four.
Also this cottage has some characteristic stone walls, and is tastefully furnished, according to the Tuscan style.
At the disposal of the cottages, for common use also with the owners, there is a washing machine compartment, a barbeque and a large garden, in which there was a delightful in-ground swimming pool of 4.5 m in diameter which we are replacing with a rectangular swimming pool of 5 mx 11 m and height 1. 40, currently under construction, but built for April 2020,
The small village of Montebuono, consisting of very few houses, is located in the municipal area of Sorano, in an area of the hills in the hinterland of the Grosseto Maremma known as the Tufo area. The village develops on a hilly relief at 500 meters above sea level not far from the course of the Fiora river.
What makes Montebuono unique is the dramatic beauty of its hilly panoramas, which extends to the sea, and the peace of unspoiled nature.
Perfect place for hiking and trekking along the mysterious intertwining of the Via Cave or towards the slopes of Mount Penna.
The village is a few kilometers from some of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany: about 8 km from Sovana famous for its Etruscan necropolis, 10 km from Sorano, a medieval village with spa, 16 km from Pitigliano, the tuff city, which is counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy and is about half an hour from the mountain area of Amiata, also near the lake of Bolsena (30 minutes) with its enchanting villages of Marta, Bolsena and Capodimonte
The great advantage of our village is that it is just a quarter of an hour's drive from the delightful thermal baths of Sorano and about 30 minutes from the well-known spa center of Saturnia.
Last but not least, the sea: from Montebuono you can reach the sandy and equipped beaches of Giannella and Feniglia in an hour, the rocky coasts full of beautiful bays of the Argentario, the enchanting beaches of Capalbio and Castiglione della Pescaia.
A strategic position also with respect to the most famous art cities of Tuscany; Siena and Florence can be reached by car relatively in an hour and a half and two hours; same distance separates Montebuono from the capital Rome.
Other centers of interest in the surroundings are Orvieto, Viterbo, Civita di Bagnoregio and much more that you will discover on the spot.
Small pets are welcome, accustomed to being at home.

This is a secret tip for anyone wanting a Tuscan hidaway. Cozy, friendly, quiet. A place to relax in the garden or poolside. Within a short driving distance to some of Tuscany's great sights. Pitigliano, The Saturnia Thermal, and don't forget Sorano. Our host even invited us on our last night to the village Madonna Festival. What a memorable experience. If we can, we'll be back for sure!
