Très belle maison joliment décorée. Beaucoup d'objets chinés, ambiance cosy.
Entrée directe du jardin pour notre chambre.

A bit of a mixture. The location is great, and the room itself is decently big, recently decorated, and overall very satisfactory. The bathroom is fine, and if you look hard enough, you'll find a kettle, mugs, knives and forks, so you're equipped for very basic eating. You can't cook, but there is (I think) a microwave. There is a good bakery just round the corner which does hot drinks as well, so in fact you're as well off to go and have breakfast there anyway. And Autun is a lovely town, so well worth visiting.
I don't want to sound too negative, because it has lots of potential, but you get the idea that the owner ran out of money half-way through the process of setting the place up. Start with the fact that we didn't see the owner - entry was with one of these blasted key box things, which I always find annoying and challenging as I have no mobile phone - but we did manage to get in. Only to find there was no lavatory paper, and the towels were greyish and rough. One was stained. The room itself was clean, but once you find your towel isn't that clean and new, you start to wonder about the rest... And the bed is a mattress on top of two palettes which stuck out a foot or so beyond the end of the mattress. Every time you went from one end of the room to the other, you stubbed your toe or tripped over the palettes. So it could be good, if the owner just makes that bit more effort to invest in it properly. A proper bed, clean, new towels, make sure there's some loo paper... Oh, and there's no TV either.
