About this house rental
This property is a self catering 2 bedroom chalet at Penstowe Holiday Park in the village of Kilkhampton (EX23) - 5 miles from Bude in North Cornwall. Chalet is in grounds of a Manor House in several acres of woods NO SMOKING IN CHALET

King size Bed in main room and Second bedroom with bunk beds. Both have wardrobes and drawers. You will need to bring your own Bed Linen. We will only provide Duvet's and Pillows for both bedrooms with mattress protectors. We can also provide travel cot.
Newly fitted large Shower with small washbasin toilet and heated towel rail
New fully fitted kitchen area including microwave and freestanding cooker, fridge freezer and washing machine.
Living room has Tv with Wi-Fi adapter
The Chalet also consists of Electric heaters, Ironing Board, Iron. All Electric is paid by £1 & £2 coins which is situated in the Kitchen.
Also….. The Stowe (in the main Manor House Now offering full drinks menu, 2 full size Snooker table, Pool tables, Darts.
Plenty of attractions nearby, The Big Sheep, The Milk Way, 45 minutes to Port Isaac, Padstow, Boscastle.
Bude sea pool at Summerleaze Beach Bude just 5 miles from Kilkhampton.

This chalet is a real home from home, with every amenity we could possibly need. And Annette is a lovely, accommodating host. We really can't wait to come back!

Accommodation was lovely modern and clean, quiet and peaceful. ideally located for where we needed to be visiting family in Stibb, although for others everything is really a car journey to shop etc and pub only serving food from food van on evenings which didn’t bother us but maybe people with younger children not much to do for them. As a family with older children this suited us and we would return.

A lovely weekend stay in a cosy, clean chalet.

The location was good as it is near to Bude. The site itself was empty for August - it is all a bit dated. Chalet had not been thoroughly cleaned. Skirting boards were thick with dirt, carpet needed a thorough hoover, mattress topper looked like it had the outline of a previous occupant, damp cleaning cloths left on the kitchen side. Generally a bit grubby. The total cost for my August week was about £590 (including the ‘servicing charge’) so I was willing to accept the beds weren’t great and the furniture in the lounge was old but I do expect a high level of cleanliness. There are no sheets or duvets covers - so this needs to be made clearer on the description as I only discovered this a few days before going. Swimming pool was listed on facilities but in fact, our chalet did NOT have access and you can’t pay to use it. I contacted owner who said swimming pool should not be on ‘facilities’. As for cleaning she said her friend on site does it. I have suggested a professional cleaner if renting to the public. All in all - good value but the cleaning issue and the lack of pool was disappointing. The chalet has potential - details need to be clearer, proper cleaning done and some newer furniture in lounge.
